User :   this is regarding my wife

User :   she got her periods on 15th Jan

User :   usually it is there for 2-3 days
User :   this time it is still continuing
User :   not heavy flow
User :   but due to this she feels weak, dizzy and feels like black out

User :   we have a 9 month old baby
User :   and she is breastfeeding as well

User :   no..she is not on any medicines
User :   what should i give her now to manage the situation

Doctor :   well we do consider 5- 7 days of variation as normal and no intervention is required at this point
Doctor :   she needs to rest and not indulge in any strenuous work
Doctor :   after 10 days if the bleeding does not stop then she needs to see a gynecologist
Doctor :   otherwise its nothing to worry about
User :   what should be taken for weakness and bouts of dizziness (which I feel was due to evening walks)....
Doctor :   she needs to get her blood pressure tested
Doctor :   low BP can cause dizziness
Doctor :   also tell her to increase her daily intake of water
Doctor :   to minimum 8 glasses a day
Doctor :   you can give her multivitamin capsule 1 daily

User :   could this extended periods due to stress levels ?

Doctor :   stress is responsible for delaying or extending a womens period
Doctor :   you can go to any chemist and ask for a multivitamin, they dont need prescription
User :   what should be given for weakness (for the moment)...
Doctor :   proper diet is sufficient with adequate rest
