User :   Hi. My daughter ate a recee's chocolate earlier today, and then noticed a small white worm crawling in the package. We're not sure if she ate one or not. Should she seek medical attention?
User :   .
Doctor :   How big was the worm ?
User :   Very tiny
User :   the one in the package was still alive...we don't know if she accidentally ate one too or not.
Doctor :   can you tell me approx size ?
Doctor :   i just want to know a clue about its species , as worm may not affect if eaten , but its eggs ( cysts ) may
User :   1/4 - 3/8/ in. My husband thinks it may have been a maggot but I'm not sure
Doctor :   if its a maggot its no problem
Doctor :   because the maggot eggs get destroyed in the stomach acid
Doctor :   eating worm is not at al problem
User :   Are maggots small and white
Doctor :   yes,
Doctor :   they will be having a spring like rings on the surface
Doctor :   Are you there ?
User :   yes...if we are not there anything else that fits the description that could be dangerous?
User :   or could it be carrying disease?
Doctor :   when did your child contact that ?
User :   I don't understand

Doctor :   i mean when did he eat that chocolate ?
User :   about 2 hours ago
Doctor :   ok, i do not consider it be dangerous ( poisonous ), as it had been hours
User :   so you think if it were going to be dangerous or make her sick, it would have done so by now?
User :   You think she's fine
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   do not worry
Doctor :   since its very small , it may not pose any stomach problems for sure
