Doctor:how may I help you?
User:Hi Sir, Good afternoon
Doctor:Very good afternoon
Doctor:please proceed with your question
User:My daughter is not well since last Thursday. On Thursday she has high fever and loose motions as well. We took her to a hospital and got some medication. Fever got reduced, in fact, its completely gone now.
User:But in her motion, since past two days, some blood and mucus is also coming out.
Doctor:oh okay
Doctor:I am sorry about your daughter's condition
Doctor:from your description it seems like your daughter might be suffering from typhoid fever
User:When we met doctor on last Thursday it used to be normal motions only. So, we didn't say anything about blood and mucus to Doctor. For regular motions, they prescribed Z&D 20mg ( 1ml per day ).
Doctor:How old is your daughter?
User:ohh :(
User:~1.3 yrs
User:We are giving her curd rice, idli, ORC Juice etc, some fruits
Doctor:you can continue that
Doctor:but I would like you to get her stool tested for typhoid bacteria
User:Ohh OK
Doctor:blood in stools can be seen in typhoid and amoebic dysentery
User:Some times her stool is in light green color as well
Doctor:so a stool test will rule out both
Doctor:If there is no fever now then it can be easily treated
Doctor:do not panic
Doctor:take her to the pediatrician again
Doctor:and get the stool tested
Doctor:and you can get a blood test like blood culture also done
User:Sure sir
Doctor:is there anything else you would like to discuss?
User:how much generally this stool test cost
User:And do you recommend any hospital near XXXXXXX XXXXXXX in XXXXXXX
Doctor:The cost is not very high
Doctor:it will be around 200 or something like that
Doctor:Manipal hospital is nearby
Doctor:if you don't like that you can go to CMH or cradle
User:Sure sir, generally we are taking her to Cloud9. We are always feeling that unnecissarily they are charging much.
User:Last time when we took my daughter to her, they recommended urine test which costed 3.5K and at the end they confirmed that there is nothing in the report :(
Doctor:cloud 9 is a waste of money if you are not super rich
Doctor:go to St John's hospital
Doctor:You can get these tests done for 100 or 200 rupees
Doctor:and you will also get very good doctors
User:Sure sir, its not about money. Its all about confidence when they recommend some tests next time
Doctor:is there anything else I can help you with?
User:Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestion! I would get back to you if I need anything else.
User:Thats all I need for now, Thanks again!
Doctor:You are welcome
Doctor:have a good day ahead
Doctor:bye bye
