User:we have been chatting for my son....
User:i had tests done for my baby....
User:reports are as under:
User:1) CMV IgG- positive
User:2)CMV-IgM- negative

User:I wanted to know the implications of this...
User:I was also, CMV-IgG positive and CMV igM negative, when my blood was taken by Lifecell, during their cord storage procedure...
Doctor:it may indicates past infection, what did your doctor say?
User:the reports came today mornijng, and because of diwali, could not talk to him...
Doctor:If it is due to past infection then you need not to worry
Doctor:i guess mostly it indicates past infection since you had infection during pregnancy

User:i just wanted to know, that if I was CMV IgG before pregnancy... then can the same be transmitted to my kid?

User:ok....and if CMV IgG was positive to me, would that me that it would pass on to my kid as well, and hence he is CMV IgG positive?

User:what I am looking for is that I am worried on the fact that is that my kid is by default CMV igG positive as I was,...or he might have generated new infection during pregnancy?

User:ok.....whether I should go for any further tests?? as i was reading that the effects of CMV come at later stage , and not at the time of birth, I am very confused....cant understand what to do? would talk to my pediatrician, but still dont know what to do....
