User:this is about a colleague of mine who is pregnant

User:she is in her 5th month
User:yesterday she saw a brownish discharge
User:even today she saw 2 drops
User:she is worried
User:want to know the reason ... also the criticality

Doctor:Brownish discharge in 5th pregnant lady could be due to bleeding or infection.
Doctor:Ask her to get a Ultrasound abdomen for fetal vitality.
User:she doesnt have any pain though
Doctor:urine tests and vaginal examination by a gynec for any infections.
Doctor:Some times there are chances that there would be occult blood in the uterus accumulated.
Doctor:we call it as Ante partum hemorrhage.
User:well she had a abdomen scan this sunday....they said it was fine
User:but she saw this discharge yest...
Doctor:the blood gets clotted in uterus and doesn't flow down.
Doctor:Does she have fever or burning sensation during urination.
User:well on sunday evening there was feverish kind.....
User:but normal from monday
User:no burning
User:she applied only vicks
User:do i ask her check her Doc immediately
Doctor:Then this would be old accumulation of blood which has flown out with the discharge.
User:Do i ask her to visit her Doc ASAP
Doctor:It would be better to see her doctor and ask her for vaginal examination
Doctor:Its most probably an infection with discharge with old blood.
User:ASAP or can she wait till the weekend
Doctor:Ask her to take rest and see her doctor if the discharge increases.
Doctor:no need to be in a hurry if the fetus is healthy.
