User:Hello doctor
Doctor:Hi,
Please proceed with your query
User:As you are aware about my father's condition..he has been discharged yesterday
User:his sonography report was normal
User:but since he could not produce much urine..they gave him an injection
User:due to which he was passing urine every few minutes
User:he is feeling like he needs to urinate..but he is not getting it
User:again when he comes back to bed again he feels he needs to
Doctor:That's good news. I believe they gave diuretic injection which is making him pass frequently.
User:they had given a vessel in which he needs to urinate and doctor asked to measure it
User:after that yest they discharged him
Doctor:Sometimes post prostrate procedure some inflammation can induce such changes.
Doctor:You can reassess the situation at home.
User:since yesterday afternoon he is passing urine but not that much..quantity is reduced
Doctor:If he continues to have problems, he should be investigated.
User:he is not having inflammation..i mean he has not complained about that as yet
User:but should be urine output be more or less
Doctor:Inflammation is a condition not symptom.
User:ok
User:he is having lot of liquids..and medicines as well
Doctor:If he is able to pass more than 500ml of urine in a day, then I think it's ok.
Doctor:However as I said, some patients have this difficult after prostate procedure and cathetrization.
Doctor:Things improve after discharge and increased fluid consumption.
User:doctor was saying if he had not passed urine normally then they would have again need to put the catherter or bad for him
User:but yesterday morning he passed without any assistance
User:how much will it take for him to get back to normal
User:*time
Doctor:Recovery time depends. It is not a constant fixed number.
Doctor:As long as he has no retention issues, then we can wait.
Doctor:But generally as I said, symptoms improve within a week or two after procedure/cathetrization.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:yes
Doctor:Do you have any other query?
User:and regarding diet he is supposed to eat semi liquid dishes
User:without any spice
User:will a little chilly or spice cause any problem or motions
Doctor:Most medicines given during hospitalisation causes gastritis. So spices can add to the problem
Doctor:Hence the recommendation of low spice food.
User:ok..thanks doctor
Doctor:Follow instructions of the doctor.
User:yes
User:sure
Doctor:Do you have any more query?
User:thanks..i have no other query
Doctor:Thanks for visiting me here. Bye for now.
