User:I'm got an appointment with my GP tomorrow afternoon. For about 2 weeks now I've had some ... discomfort? under my left rib cage, just underneath it, about a third of the way back from my sternum as you you follow the bottom of the rib cage. It's not pain. Sometimes it feels ... full? Like there is a gold ball under it. Occasionally it feels more like the mildest least severe lower abdominal cramp ever.
Doctor:Give me a moment to read your query
Doctor:I have read your query
Doctor:It can be swollen spleen
User:Oh my.
Doctor:Spleen is the organ that clears blood
User:I have no distension, swelling visible, or pain.
User:Even when I press in to the area hard
Doctor:Sometimes it presents with doscomfort when there is mild infection in blood or abdomen
User:Thank you.
Doctor:I would not worry about it if routine tests are coming back normal
User:Great. And if it persists how long would you wait until you sought further treatment/diagnosis?
Doctor:You may get tested for infections if any is present
Doctor:If it is curable then it will clear
Doctor:usually it reduces if the cause is taken care of
Doctor:Do you get diarhea
Doctor:or pain in stomach apart from this pain
User:No, I do not.
User:And it's not pain. It just feels light very very light cramp
Doctor:Then it may be from the cough that is lingering on
Doctor:Spleen is trying to clear it up
Doctor:Spleen acts like a filter
User:Almost like a short muscle contraction that then loosenes up.I can feel it 'siezing up' and freeing up, but it's not painful.
Doctor:Did you take antibiotics for cold?
Doctor:It is possible that antibiotics resulted in altering of normal flora of intestines and it is resulting in discomfort
Doctor:Are you there?
Doctor:Are you there?
Doctor:It seems that you are not responding
User:No, I didnt take antibiotics
User:(I apologize, my intenet connection is very bad)
Doctor:Its ok
Doctor:So it may be just as benign as a muscle spasm
Doctor:So let us see what your general physician has to say about it after examining you
User:Great. Thank you for your time!
User:Enjoy the rest of your day!
Doctor:Thanks for coming on chat7
Doctor:You too have a good time
Doctor:Take care
