User:Hi Dr. XXXXXXX
Doctor:How can I help you?
User:you remember I talked to you some days back about backache and some pricking sensation in hands
User:you asked me to get some xrays done
Doctor:Yup, flex ex x-rays for your neck
User:yep
User:Wait I am uploading here
Doctor:Got them done?
User:Yes, I just have photo graphs today
User:will get print tomorrow
Doctor:I see
User:Lets see if you can get anything from photos
Doctor:sure, upload them, lets take a look
User:uploaded
Doctor:One sec
Doctor:OK, so these are pics in neutral position
Doctor:What about the flexion and extension shots?
User:no no you did not ask me to get that flexion and extension
User:Xray cervical spine is the one that I got today
User:This is what I asked that guy
User:any updates from it?
Doctor:Ok, so the other pics will be done later. Now to this x-ray. Look at the first image, (the one where you are turned to the side
User:yes
Doctor:Look at the dark spacing between each bone
User:hmm
Doctor:each vertebrae to be exact
Doctor:It looks really good overall
Doctor:I can't be 100% sure unless i see the Flex and Ex pics.
Doctor:but this looks like your neck is not the culprit here
Doctor:The discs look to be in good shape
User:so what can be the issue..?
Doctor:Well, from what i remember, the pricking and pain were mostly on the right shoulder
User:Isn't this entire bone stack supposed to be a little curved? Mine look straight..
Doctor:i'm sorry pricking asnd pain were right hand
User:Yes pain in upper left and pricking in right hand finger tips
Doctor:You were standing straight at attention, you would lose the natural curve at that point
User:ok..what do I do now
Doctor:Ok, well. The nerves on that side are probably getting entrapped when entering your arm, either from the neck or the shoulder
Doctor:We haven't perfectly ruled out entrapment at the neck. But your shoulder seems a more likely culprit in this case.
Doctor:You're going to need to be examined by an orthopedic specialist.
Doctor:they are going to take your through range of motion testing.
Doctor:Basically move your arms in a big wide XXXXXXX to see where the pricking worsens if at all
Doctor:they may want x-rays of the shoulder as well
User:I also visited a ortho.. he did motion testing.. couldn't find anything new.. he said might be metabolisim problem/posture problem
Doctor:If that fails to find the problem, the next thing is a CT scan of the neck and the shoulder
Doctor:Aiyoo, Ok
User:pricking does not worsen by any motion
Doctor:well, a metabolic problem wouldn't affect just your right arm, it would affect the wholw body
User:Visited CMH XXXXXXX . Dr. Ashokh Wadhwa
User:Yes, this is what I thought
Doctor:Gotcha, yhea , you mentioned CMH
Doctor:why don;t we assume that you DO have a bony problem in either the neck or the shoulder..
Doctor:I'm not saying you do, but lets come at this from a different direction
Doctor:lets try and strengthen your neck and shoulder with Physical Therapy and exercise before we expose you to more testing
User:ok, what to do next?
Doctor:I want you to check out this video
Doctor:make sure it loads
User:if it is bone problem, then why pricking?
Doctor:it describes 3 excercises
Doctor:well, bones, when misaligned or when inflamed will irritate the nerves of the arm, leading to that sensation
User:ok, so for how many days should I do this exercise?
Doctor:I want you to do those 3 exercises twice a day. and when you feel neck pain. I want you to use the method described in the next video
Doctor:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa6XjHtKhoQ
Doctor:i want you to try this for a week. After that, if these are not working. You will need some heavy duty testing and a consult with a a spine surgeon
User:ok.. I'll do it
Doctor:Good. see i'm just trying to rule out the simple stuff first before i make you spend a ton of money and time on this
Doctor:make sense?
User:Sure, I got it.. thanks a lot
User:Do I need to show you the xray prints tomorrow? or snaps were enough?
Doctor:you can always do that. Will be happy to take a look
Doctor:can never be sure till i check
User:sure.. thanks .. bbye
Doctor:the pictures seemed pretty clear, but can never be sure. I'm not that knowledgeable about how a camera would distort a picture
Doctor:Take care my friend.
