Doctor :   I would like to know few more things before suggesting you: Doctor :   May I know your age?
User :   yes, please
User :   23
Doctor :   May I know the duration of the cough, any associated symptoms, aggravating and relieving factors?
User :   it has been there for 6 days till date.. its severe when i get up in the morning
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   May I know the colour of the sputum and the quantity of sputum?
User :   dark yellowish.. quantity - around 10 ml (i.e approx a teaspoon quantity)
Doctor :   Did you see a doctor for this condition and did you take any antibiotics?
User :   i didn't visit this time.. I used to get this kind of cough during climate changes and doctor used to prescribe me Benadryl everytime.. so i just followed the same this time.. I consulted with a HealthCareMagic doctor two days back though
User :   no, i did not take any antibiotic
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   After going the description provided by you, I feel the wet cough you have due to climate changes could be due to viral infection but now as it has turned to yellowish colour, I feel there is super added bacterial infection.
User :   ok. how do i proceed now?
Doctor :   You need to see an ENT specialist as for complete examination and would prescribe you a course of antibiotics.
Doctor :   Till then you can follow these measures: Doctor :   1. Take AMBROLITE syp 2 tsp three times a day.
Doctor :   This is for wet cough and contains ingredients which are mucolytic and would reduce the mucus production.
Doctor :   2. Consume boiled water.
User :   ok.
Doctor :   3. Do salt water gargling atleast thrice a day.
Doctor :   4. Avoid cold and refrigerated food items.
Doctor :   5. Consume warm food regularly.
