Doctor :   Hi,
Doctor :
User :   hello
User :   my 10 year old daughter is very weak in her arms and legs cant move hardly
User :   I took her to Emergency the did blood test, CT Scan and MRI and found nothing
Doctor :   ok,
User :   they think it is emotional
User :   but it just seems strange
Doctor :   When did this happen and for how long did she suffer this ?
User :   one week
User :   it happenned from one day to another
Doctor :   Does she have the symptoms now ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   And can you explain the problem in bit detail ?
User :   limited movement in her neck, legs and arms no pain
User :   and she has all her senses
Doctor :   Why are the movements limited ?
Doctor :   Is it the weakness or bone /muscle stiffness ?
User :   she cant move them
User :   no stifness
User :   it seems muscle
Doctor :   ok, Have you got her screened for structural abnormalities ?
User :   they did ct scan
User :   and x rays
User :   and everything looked normal the hospital said
Doctor :   No, a ECHOcardiography is the test , which rules out structural abnormalities
Doctor :   well , the commonest cause of the weakness in children is from the heart
Doctor :   i would consider it better to get the ECHO done and rule out any cardiac anamolies
User :   ok
Doctor :   Does she have any other symptoms other than this ?
User :   no
Doctor :   like recurrent infections, syncope , fainting etc?
User :   no
Doctor :   ok, its very uncommon for a 10 year old to present with weakness
User :   i know and she is usually very active
User :   we have to help her for everything
Doctor :   the most common cause is from the heart
Doctor :   and also consult a physiotherapist to rule out any connective tissue disorders
Doctor :   which is the second most common cause
User :   so you think what tehay are saying that is emotional it is not right
Doctor :   i consider it the least, the emotional level of a 10 year old may not be so strong so that it would affect and show physical problems
User :   a neurologist refereed her to a psychiatrist
Doctor :   ok, How is the nutritional status of the baby ? weight and the height
User :   she is 100 plds and is 5'3 very tall for her age
Doctor :   ok, this is in favour of connective tissue disorders
Doctor :   follow my advice , get a ECHOcardiography done and rule out the heart anamolies
User :   ok i will do that
Doctor :   and next consult a physiotherapist and for a detailed physical pulling out the cause
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me , kindly provide your feedback
