User :   im pregant with my first child and I'm vomiting alot and my body hurts alot and I'm freezing too. Could something be wrong with my child and I'm only 3 months pregant?
Doctor :   hi
User :   Hi
Doctor :   vomiting in pregnancy is a common complaint, it is called 'emesis gravidarum'
Doctor :   if the vomiting is severe, then it is called as 'hyperemesis gravidarum'
Doctor :   for which there are treatment and few precautions to be followed
Doctor :   that include: 1) rest
Doctor :   2) avoiding of spice, oily, foods and even very dry food items too
Doctor :   3) if the tiredness and weakness is severe, then the patient should report to the doctor, where the loss of electrolytes can be managed by giving intravenous fluids
Doctor :   there are medications that can be taken to control the vomiting, you can discuss with your treating gyne doctor
Doctor :   and she will start you on them
Doctor :   with the medications and above precautions you can control the vomiting
Doctor :   it will not affect the baby
Doctor :   but if it is severe and you are not able to eat
Doctor :   anything, then the baby's growth will be slowed down
Doctor :   and a low birth weight baby will be born
Doctor :   so a good and well balanced diet is also necessary along with teh precautions and medications during the entire pregnancy
Doctor :   usually the vomiting stops after 3rd month, but it can continue in few women right upto the delivery day
User :   thanks
