User :   i had a hysterectomy 11 years ago leaving the ovaries. however recently i have had pain in my lower left side and have had some vaginal bleeding can you tell me what is likely to be causing it?

The bleeding could be from infection in the cervix

User :   i had a hysterectomy i dont have a cervix
Doctor :   I understand they will remove the cervix but I do not know the status of the cervix whether they completely removed or partially left it

User :   a few months
Doctor :   It could be Excess Estrogen component
User :   my levels have been tested and are fine
Doctor :   I advise further testing before coming to diagnosis
Doctor :   You need Ultrasound of the Lower abdomen

User :   would an infection not produce a discharge?
Doctor :   It is very rare without discharge
User :   i dont have discharge
Doctor :   we can completely assume with history
Doctor :   pap smear is still indicated in post hysterectomy patients
User :   i have not had one since the hysterectomy i didnt think i needed it
Doctor :   I strongly advise to get the Pap smear and routine vaginal examination and sample sent for examination
