User :   Hi, I have recently bought 'MET-Rx PURE CREATINE POWDER' to help me improve my endurance and muscle, and to my surprise it said, 'Not intended for use by persons under the age of 18.' I am 16, turning 17 in 3 days and I am taking 'MAXIMUSCLE HIGH PROTEIN PROMAX EXTREME' which is a protein powder, containing creatine. I have had no adverse effects from 2weeks of taking the 'MAXIMUSCLE' and was wondering what harm could be caused by taking the 'PURE CREATINE POWDER'? Thanks a lot
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   DrXXXX here
Doctor :   Let me read ur query
Doctor :   these products have high creatine, and can cause metabolic elevation and can cause renal damage
Doctor :   hence is not recommended in younger individuals
Doctor :   This is seen after long term usage
User :   I see, can you explain the renal damage further?
Doctor :   and hence u will not see any damage in just 2 weeks
Doctor :   renal damage in the sense will reduce renal function, and cause renal stones , etc
User :   I see. I am only one year younger than the recommended age and the lower amount of creatine has caused no damage.
User :   Also, I read up that there is no evidence it actually causes these problems, it is currently a theory.
