Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   How can I help you?
User :   Hi Doctor... during urination my urine does not pass continously... i need to pause and again start... this pause is for 1 sec max
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Since when is this happening?
User :   I had done a ultrasound... 6months back and there were small calculi in my Kidney.... doctor said that it will pass automatically
User :   I have noticed it in last 2-3 weeks back
User :   I need to pause for about 5-8 times during my urination cycle
Doctor :   What was the size of the calculi?
Doctor :   Were you taking any medicines for this?
User :   less than 1mm... 2-3 in numbers
Doctor :   You may need to get examined by a Urologist as some stones might be obstructing the urethra causing this problem.
Doctor :   Meanwhile you should drink plenty of oral fluidsDoctor :   Lemonade, citrus fruit juices, cranberry juice
Doctor :   Avoid cabbage, soya and sweat potato
Doctor :   sweet potato
Doctor :   Hi
User :   I have made the payment... I need to chat on this more
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   As I was telling you you should drink more fluids at least
Doctor :   2-3 L of liquids per day
User :   Doctor did say that since the stones are too small in size so if I drink lots of water... it will pass thr my urine only...
User :   I regularly drink more that 3liters of water....
Doctor :   The most common reason for your condition could have been a stone in the urethra
Doctor :   Ok
User :   Do I need to under the ultrasound again?
Doctor :   Do you have to strain when urinating?
User :   Uretha... means the tube from which the urine passes?
User :   no
Doctor :   yes
User :   I dont even have any pain aas well
Doctor :   the tube which connects the bladder to the outside
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   When was the last scan done?
User :   Is there any other test which I need to undergo?
User :   6months back
Doctor :   You may need to undergo a test called Micturating Cystourethrogram
Doctor :   This is done on admission under the guidance of a Urologist
Doctor :   This test identifies whether there is any obstruction and if yes, where is it located and whether it is a stone or not.
User :   Is it the same which is examined by an thin camera attached to a wire thr my Penis
Doctor :   You may also need an Intravenous Pyelography (IVP)
Doctor :   No, what you are talking about is a cystoscopy.
User :   I dont want to undergo any painful test... can u please suggest which is the best way to detect the same without much pian
Doctor :   That is an Endoscopic procedure. In this if possible any obstruction is directly removed.
Doctor :   MCU is painless, it is just an Xray taken when you are voiding the urine
Doctor :   IVP the only pain is during iv injection of the dye
User :   Yes... u r right... the doctor aksed me to that if the pain continues at that time... but since was the pain subsided I didnot undertake cystoscopy
Doctor :   Cystoscopy is done under local anaesthetic so there is only discomfort rather than frank pain.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   The further course of treatment will be decided after the test results. If a stone is present in your urinary tract
User :   So what do u suggest I should undergo?
Doctor :   then removal is planned based on the location
Doctor :   'I suggest that you better get checked up first by a Urologist and get the MCU and IVP if necessary
Doctor :   Then based on the test results, the next course will be planed
User :   What is MCU?
Doctor :   Till then continue with the fluids and the juices
User :   and what is the dye u r talking abt... can u please explain?
Doctor :   Micturating Cystourethrogram
User :   what is done in this test and is it a painful procedure?
Doctor :   In Intravenous Pyelography, a dye is injected through an iv line into you,
User :   what is an iv line?
Doctor :   the dye takes time to circulate within the bosy and is finally excreted by the kidneys after half an hour and continues for 2 hrs
Doctor :   Through a vein,
Doctor :   the dye is injected into your body through a vein just as saline is infused
User :   Can u please let me know what is typiccally checked in this process... after it is excreated... is it thr urine it passes out?
Doctor :   When the dye is being excreted by the kidneys, 2-3 Xrays at 1/2 hr intervals are take
Doctor :   So, as the dye flows through the urinary tract, its passage is detected by the Xrays.
Doctor :   The kidney function can be ascertained by the fact that they dye is seen in both the urinary tracts.
Doctor :   The dye is Radio-opaque and can be seen in an Xray
Doctor :   Then as the dye descends thru the tract, any obstruction is made out
Doctor :   the position of the obstruction can be ascertained by this
Doctor :   I hope I am clear.
User :   Ok, can u please let me know ... how much will it cost ....since the procedure looks complex
User :   Yes... thanks for the xplaination?
Doctor :   The exact cost of the procedure varies between hospitals.
User :   Since I dont feel any pain while I urinate... can it be some other problem?
Doctor :   the details

User :   Where can I get its tested?

User :   I have mentioned my complete address during my registration... do I need to mention again?
Doctor :   It wont cause a problem as long as the stone is partially obstructing. But if there is a complete obstruction
Doctor :   No
Doctor :   if there is a complete obstruction it could result in sudden stoppage of urine
Doctor :   That could be problematic.
User :   Ok fine... so u suggest to do these tests... after consulting a urologist... right?
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   Along with fluids, cranberry juice and lemonade
User :   If there is any obstruction detected.... what are the possible solution... since i dont think there is any operation for the kidneys possible to remove the stone?
Doctor :   There is no need for an operation. You can undergo a cystoscopic removal
Doctor :   It is through the urethra.
User :   But then its very painful... right? thr the P.... right? It sounds very painful... I am sorry but I cant control my axiety and
User :   any other process...??? Please suggest... if any?
Doctor :   The procedure is done very carefully, the tube is very flexible material
Doctor :   That depends on the size of the stone and its position
