Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   How can I help you?
Doctor :   please proceed with your health query.
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here.
User :   Hi. I need to tell you in details. I have already written my problems . can I just give you that ?
Doctor :   yes, you can proceed.
User :   I am age 58, suffering from diabetes from 1995. My weight is 72 kg & height is 189 CM. I was all along taking the following medicines from 1995 1. Glimmer Mg- One tab before breakfast 2. Piogen M-30- One tab with Dinner 3. Amixide - One tab before break fast 4. Amixide-H- One tab before dinner My sugar level (PP) was hovering around 180-230 at different time. Recently my Blood Sugar level shoots up to 239 (fasting).Due to some hamstring pulling problem I was unable to walk/ Absolutely no exercise was being done by me for more than 06 months. After visiting the doctor with all the problems I was facing he prescribed Galvas Met. Two tablets daily. One with break fast & one with dinner. The strength of the tablets was 50/500. After I started taking the medicine I am facing enormous gastritis problem even when I took several medicines to stop such gastritis problem .After taking Galvus Met for one month my sugar level ( PP ) dropped down to 195 . After getting frustrated with the gastritis problem I have started taking the following medicines which was being taken by my wife who was also suffering from Blood Sugar & her blood sugar was also at my level. 1. Gemer Forte-1 tablet before dinner 2. Piomed 0.2mg-1 tablet before breakfast. The gastritis problem seems to have been over. But I am afraid whether my Blood sugar level will prop up again. I take regular exercise on treadmill (15 minutes at 10 minutes /km speed). Some yoga also I do for 15 minutes at least 5 days a week. I am energetic & fill feet in all respect. I want to know what I should do now. Should I continue with the present medicines or should I go for Galvas met again with huge gastritis problem. I need a comprehensive diet chart as well. You can also kindly let me know whether I can take Cashew nut, Wall nut, Almond on daily basis (very little quantity) which I take after some doctor prescribed me to take these. If you so desire I can scan & send to you all the test result I have made so far.
Doctor :   ok. let me read what you have typed
Doctor :   since when are you taking your wife's medications?
Doctor :   have you checked the sugar levels while being on these medications? were they controlled?
User :   last 15/20 days.Not yet checked.
Doctor :   are the sugar levels of your wife under control now?
User :   Yes. Her sugar level has drastically come down with this medicine.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   then I would suggest both of you to recheck your sugar levels first
Doctor :   for your wife to see if they are under control or she needs adjustment of dose
Doctor :   and for you to see if your sugar levels are better controlled with these medications or not.
Doctor :   regarding consumption of Cashew nut, Wall nut, and Almond , you can take them daily about 2-3 of each
User :   O.k. We will definitely check within 1/2 days. But I want to know whether thee are better medicines that what I am using now.
Doctor :   only after the sugar test we can say if they have acted better for you or not
Doctor :   in diabetes, the response to similar medications can be different in different people
Doctor :   so do not assume that it will work for you what has worked for your wife in terms of sugar control
Doctor :   the efficacy and your response can only be measured with sugar level check.
Doctor :   so get the test done soon and you will know if it is worked for you
User :   can you give me a comprehensive diet chart & exercise i need to do every day ? How the medicines are choosen seeing the blood sugar level?
Doctor :   if it has worked for you, then you can ask your treating doctor to prescribe the same to you
Doctor :   or if your sugar levels are better controlled with these medications, then teh dose will be adjusted to get sugar levels completely in control
Doctor :   the medicine efficacy can be made out based on your response to them as evidenced by the blood sugar levels
