User :   Hi, may I answer your health queries right
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I am Dr.
User :   i am getting uncontrolled morning erections that can last up to 6-8 hours
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Since how long you have this
Doctor :   I have few more questions for you
Doctor :   Hello are you with me?
User :   it started about two years back after i had back surgery - quite serious operaration replacement of artificial disks @ levels l5 s1 & l4-l5.
Doctor :   What is your age?
Doctor :   Did you consult a doctor for this problem?
Doctor :   Are you with me?
User :   But i went to mens clinic +- 4 years back where they teach u to use syringe and "inject" small dose into penis for prolonged erections. but the dose was to strong and I had to go see GP to use anti dote and pressing "all the blood back"into my body. I have only tried it few times with same consequences. and got antidote to inject myself. a few times So the blood vessels that is supposed to open and close this does happen now and again .. as was advised to if it happen again to use sinicon or sinitab which has got psueefedrien and if I take those it hhelps to put it down after about four hours
User :   I am 55
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Give me some time to read your question completely
Doctor :   and I need time for us to have a good discussion here
User :   Also do not want to go back to GP because of embarresment
Doctor :   Ok it means it is a self induced erection
Doctor :   The next step for you to do is, seeing a Urologist and get and Ultrasound of the penis and see how is the artery inside
Doctor :   If it is normal or ruptured oozing the blood into the muscle
User :   no this I have done 4 years ago and stopped it because of this problem.... Now it happens now and again.
Doctor :   I understand that
Doctor :   Any erection more than 4 hours should be treated as an emergency
Doctor :   and determine if it is ischemic or non ischemic (related to blood flow to penis)
Doctor :   I feel that you have a non ischemic problem
Doctor :   This is called Non ischemic priapism
Doctor :   I sincerely suggest that the next thing to do is to get a color doppler ( Ultrasound like) and determine the cause of the prolonged erection
Doctor :   Did you follow ?
Doctor :   May be after the surgery there is some damage to the base of the penis
Doctor :   that could have lead to this condition
Doctor :   Are you back?
Doctor :   Let us contineu
User :   can it be a combination of prostate problem
Doctor :   I cannot exactly say that here on chat, because it required a per rectal prostatic examination
Doctor :   Let me ask few questions then
Doctor :   Do you have problems with urination, like urgency, not able to hold urine?
Doctor :   or do you have poor urine stream while urination?
User :   no, not really some times poor the problem is i can not urinate if this thing is swollen like this,...
Doctor :   The prostatic cause of prolonged erection is not really determined
Doctor :   Hence I think it is a cause within the penis
User :   now if it is that non ischemic priaspism .. what can a urologist do about this
Doctor :   A quick fix with embolization or a therapy which can reduce the morning erections
Doctor :   is possible
User :   meaning i take certain medication to stop the morning stuff??
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   ok then I will have to do that thanks. also maybe a bit of extra stuff since I have developed high blood pressure and is on permanent medication... I take prexum plus once a day usually in the mornings wonder if i should not change that to a tablet in the evening for a start.. from which country are U it was quite useful to chat to you
Doctor :   Pleasure for me
Doctor :   Prexum plus
User :   from where are you
Doctor :   has Perindopril + Indapamide
Doctor :   They have very few chances of being changed
Doctor :   But I think that is decision of your treating doctor
Doctor :   to change it after listening to your current problem
Doctor :   I am from XXXXX
Doctor :   Do you have any more questions that I can answer for?
User :   yes Prexum plus ii control's it well but I am thinking to change this to evening because in morning it is quiet high.. which can be maybe ad to relieving this stuff.. and tell everybody that injection stuff is bad
Doctor :   You can discuss this with your doctor
User :   Thanks a lot and enjoy your weekend.
Doctor :   Thank you
Doctor :   and Hope for a speedy recovery for you too
