Doctor :   Let me explain to you.
User :   sure
Doctor :   Based on your description,
Doctor :   the symptoms are consistent with the features of respiratory inflammation
Doctor :   the cause could be allergic or infective (viral)
Doctor :   These symptoms are usually self limiting which improves over a period of time
Doctor :   and the following measures can help you in reducing the symptoms.
Doctor :   1. Use cough lozenges such as nivaran regularly.
Doctor :   2. Syp Benadryl antiallergy preparations 1-2 tsp at night times
Doctor :   3. Steam inhalation with Karvol plus capsules thrice daily
Doctor :   * The capsule is meant to be dropped after making a nick in the capsule into warm water and inhaled.
Doctor :   4. Sleep in an inclined position with head end raised to 30 -40 degress(by using pillows),
Doctor :   they will help in reducing the cough as well as give you a better sleep
Doctor :   4. Watch out for fever and sputum production with cough.
Doctor :   if such symptoms develop then you need to see a doctor for antibiotics.
Doctor :   5. Avoid exposure to dust - reduce early morning walks, wear masks while driving, regular change of pillow sheets, bed sheets, window and door curtains, avoid dusting rooms and closets and so on.
Doctor :   5. As I mentioned in the beginning, symptom is self limiting one and is expected to improve in 2-3 weeks time.
Doctor :   However if symptoms aggravate, then stronger cough suppressants such as opioid syrups can be used (via a prescription for a doctor).
Doctor :   6. Lastly, I also suggest you to consider consulting a pulmonologist who can evaluate you,
Doctor :   perform special tests such as spirometry and lung function test.
Doctor :   If these tests are grossly abnormal, then you may need prophylactic medications during winter and cold seasons.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   Yes I have
User :   absolutely.
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   Thanks for your help
User :   appreciate
User :   I am good for now.
User :   have a great day
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :   Have a nice day!!
Doctor :   Bye for now.
