User :   Hi, I am a 52 year old female with a problem that no doctor has found a cause for. It started 9 months ago, with bloating and pain underneath my right breast. With it was excessive, loud, continuous, belching everytime I ate or drank anything, even water. I was sent to a diagnostic center which said either I had "a small appendix or chronic appendicitis". This didn't make sense to me, since I had no pain where my appendix was. I was sent to the hospital and they did a gall bladder test-normal, an ultrasound-normal, and an endoscopy-normal. The GI doctor thought it could be a rebound symptom from my appendix, but the hospital doctor wouldn't let him remove my appendix, since I had no pain there. It took about 3 months to get through this, and I discovered things to eat and drink that caused it to lessen, but that never elliminated the problem completely. Unfortunately, all of those things were soft, easily digestible, with little nutritional benefit (like XXXXXXXX crackers and minute rice and jello, for example. And I want to eat healthy foods, like raw vegetables, high fiber food, whole grain rice, etc. because I have high cholestrol and am overweight, 170 pounds. Then, last week, it started again. Primary care sent me to the hospital, they did a CT scan, found nothing, sent me home. I don't think they believed me, yet you can't imagine belches as loudly and as often as they occur, and my husband and my son can attest to that. Trouble is, in the hospital, I wasn't aloud to eat or drink. Then I came home. and the first few sips of water I took, belching started back up. Frustrating. One other detail that may be important, after I eat and drink, a puffy gas pocket forms, underneath my right breast. If I rub it gently, I can pump the gas out with lesser burps. By the way, my gastro-intestinal doctor mentioned to me last time that if this got too annoying (at least he
User :   believed me), that he could remove my gall baldder. That he has found with other people that had a similar condition, and no diagnosis, that removing the gall bladder had stopped all of the problems 99% of the time completely. I would really appreciate if someone could help!

User :   I forgot to mention, I use to take Zoloft, but had to discontinue it completely, cause it would cause the same problems. The doctor said it was because there are serotonin receptors in the intestinal track that it irritates.

Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   Did you tell about all the medications you are using to your treating GI?
Doctor :   I meant your doctor.
