User :   On Wednesday we were playing outside and my son ended up with (what I thought were) a bunch of mosquito bites, one being on his forehead. The next morning, it looked like a small goose egg, and remained that way for the rest of the day. I figured he is probably allergic. It has remained all these days. Now, three days later, I see that it is flat and dark red and a bit splotchy, almost looking as if there are a bunch of broken blood vessels underneath (like a very red bruise.) Does this sound concerning? I have never seen a reaction like this, can't believe it is just from a mosquito bite, but can't figure out what else it could be.
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   let me read your query
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   An allergic reaction can cause such problem
Doctor :   Does he have pain, itching?
User :   He doesn't really talk, but he has pointed to it a bunch of times and said "ow". He has a few more obvious bites on his neck, and has scratched those. This he hasn't scratched, just says "ow" and "boo-boo."
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   I would recommend you to consult your Pediatrician
Doctor :   and get it examined
User :   They are closed today; does this seem like I need to rush him in, or should we be okay to wait until tomorrow?
Doctor :   May I know his age?
User :   2 1/2
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Has he developed fever?
User :   no nothing else to indicate a problem. he's acting normal.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   How are his actions, has he become irritable
Doctor :   or has remained normal and playful?
User :   He's been having tantrums, so I'd say irritable, but I don't know if it is more than usual (he has two other young brothers.) Playful and normal otherwise.
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   If he has become irritable
Doctor :   then he should be taken without delay
Doctor :   as it does suggest an indication to get medical help
Doctor :   urgently
User :   I think it is just his normal almost 3 year old behavior, to be honest. I'll talk to my husband to see if he thinks it is a change and we will bring him in now if he thinks so. Otherwise, okay to wait, just based on the look of it?
Doctor :   If he is normal and playful
Doctor :   it is not urgent as such
Doctor :   then you can visit the doctor
Doctor :   electively tomorrow
Doctor :   otherwise you shall have to go to the ER if it is urgent
User :   okay, thank you for the information. We will keep an eye on it, if his behavior seems off we will head to the ER. Thanks!
Doctor :   That shall be the right approach
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting, bye for now
User :   Thanks a lot. Bye.
