Doctor :   Brochospasm due to the cold weather can aggravate the symptoms.
Doctor :   The treatment here (for a viral infection) is symptomatic treatment alone.
Doctor :   Most of the cough syrups available as over the counter medications are expectorants, which do not help in proper control of such coughs.
Doctor :   You will need antitussive cough syrups.
Doctor :   Since, these are prescription only medications, you will need to consult a doctor to avail these syrups.
