Doctor : do you have any other medical problems ?
User : No
Doctor : ok i will advise you few lifestyle changes
Doctor : and trust me once you can control your cholesterol with diet and exercise you can be even off the meds
Doctor : 1) Read food labels to know what you're getting. Some important things to look for are: calories, calories from fat, total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol. Try to avoid foods with "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated" vegetable oil.
Doctor : 2) Build your meals around fruits, vegetables, and grains. Fruits, vegetables and grains have little fat and no cholesterol. These foods are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
Doctor : 3) Do not eat more than 6 ounces of meat, poultry, or fish a day. Try to keep serving sizes to 3 ounces.
Doctor : 4) Buy lean cuts of red meat. Some low-fat cuts are: pork loin, lean center-cut ham, and lamb flank.
Doctor : 5) Avoid processed meats, fast foods, and packaged snacks.
User : I am exercising three times a week. My labs were taken after I came from cruise where diet was inexistent
Doctor : i can understand
Doctor : but its good you are also seeing a cardiologist
User : Yes
User : Thank you
Doctor : well usually its the sugar that fluctuates high
Doctor : cholesterol also but the fluctuations are less
User : My sugar is OK
Doctor : so a examination by a cardiologist is the best step for you
User : Ok I see him every 6 months or so Thanks
Doctor : your most welcome
Doctor : take care
User : Bye
Doctor : bye
