User :   Cholesterol in april was 162 trigly 36 Hdl 62 and ldl 92 . This wk chol is 238 trigs 55 Hdl 95 and LDL 131
Should I be concerned or on meds? I am Visiting my cardiologist this week, but would like second opinion . The most recent blood tests were after Thksgiving weekend where diet went bezerk!

Doctor :   1) Read food labels to know what you're getting. Some important things to look for are: calories, calories from fat, total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol. Try to avoid foods with "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated" vegetable oil.
Doctor :   2) Build your meals around fruits, vegetables, and grains. Fruits, vegetables and grains have little fat and no cholesterol. These foods are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
Doctor :   3) Do not eat more than 6 ounces of meat, poultry, or fish a day. Try to keep serving sizes to 3 ounces.
Doctor :   4) Buy lean cuts of red meat. Some low-fat cuts are: pork loin, lean center-cut ham, and lamb flank.

User :   I am exercising three times a week. My labs were taken after I came from cruise where diet was inexistent
