Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
How can I help you?
User :   I had a deep under the skin pimple form the day of Christmas- it was very painful- of course I was trying to find a quick remedy- and did everything possible to get rid of it. I used the zeno- bye bye blemish- benzoyl peroxide. I ended up damaging the skin so i've been putting lotion or neosporin on it to heal. However- its been a full two weeks and not only is that one still there- but i've got another one right underneith it that has also been there for two weeks with no sign of relief. As soon as you stick it to drain it- it looks like its about ready to heal and then a few hours later its right back to square one. I've always had acne- but nothing that lingers like this. So it looks like a pimple rash on my chin. HORRIBLE! I need suggestions or some help from those who have suffered the same thing. They seem to go away but only temporary- matter of hours, not days. I have tried everything to get this to heal and so far nothing! Please Help!
Doctor :
Just a moment. Let me read it.
Doctor :
Do you feel that there's pus formation inside ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Do you have redness or itching?
User :   and once you try to drain it you get clear pus out of it- then a few hours later it looks like it did the first time- Yes its very red but no itching
User :   I've never had anything like this- and I've had it for 2 weeks without any sign of it getting better
Doctor :   Did you try to pinch for yourself
User :   yes- just clear pus- it gets flat- and then an hour later- its back to the huge bump
User :   when you press on it- there is a hard bump underneith the skin-
Doctor :   I have few suggestions for you here
Doctor :
The pimple is severely infected now
Doctor :
This is because of your frequent handling and voluntarily rupturing it
Doctor :
This forms scars in future
User :   I did try some ointment stuff for boils- its black icthomal ( spelling)
Doctor :
So do not try to poke the pimple
User :   so is there something that I can use meanwhile to heal it for good
Doctor :
2) Neosporin is not of any help to you now
User :   everything I've used seem to dry it up temporarily but then it just reappears- its like a rash/cluster of three
Doctor :   Yes all the antibiotics cause the thing to dry up
Doctor :
So you have to apply moisturizer after two hours of application of the antibiotic
User :   so is there a particular antibiodic that I can get over the counter?
Doctor :
You need topical antibiotics with Clindamycin or Erythromycin, I think this is not an over the counter medicine
Doctor :
If the Benzoyl peroxide does not help you
Doctor :
You have to go for the above mentioned ones
User :   no benzoyl will not respond to this at all
User :   so is that something that I can get prescribed by a regular doctor-
User :   or would I have to go to a dermatologist
Doctor :
Yes very much
Doctor :
You can see a Family practitioner or PCP
Doctor :
you do not need a Dermatologist appnt
Doctor :
I think Family Practitioner is available easily
Doctor :
Did you follow?
User :   okay- how long would it take to completely heal with the Erythromycin? Will they keep reappearing?
Doctor :
What is your age, gender
User :   Female- 25
Doctor :
Erythromycin takes a week to heal the present pimple
User :   and what about the other
Doctor :   though you have to follow certain skin care regimen
Doctor :
to reduce the recurrence rate
Doctor :
They are as follows
User :   I wash my face faithfully twice a day-
Doctor :
1) Put the moisturizer, twice daily after the antibiotic application
Doctor :
2) Do not scrub the face, wash with mild soap twice a day
Doctor :
3) If the Doctor gives an antibiotic along with Tretinoic acid in it, apply that only in the night
Doctor :
as tretinoic acid will cause irritation in the sun
User :   Is there a specific moisturizer
Doctor :
4) Do not spend on a specific moisturizer
Doctor :
you can apply the regular ones
Doctor :
5) Do apply a thin film of moisturizer
User :   i normally use cocoa butter lotion
Doctor :
6) Sun screen help you better without irritating the pimple
Doctor :
It is fine
Doctor :
8) Do not touch the pimple with your hand except during face wash
User :   okay
Doctor :
9) You regret it later for doing so
User :   okay
Doctor :   Do not be worried about the same, as stress is known to flare up the pimple
User :   i think thats what caused it all- i've always had minor acne- usually go a month or two without anything- then I might get one or two but they normally heal within a few days
Doctor :
User :   this just lingers- and the more I dry it out the bigger mess I get
Doctor :
Minor pimples without pus or redness are not yet infected and can be helped by applying
Doctor :
the Benzoyl peroxide
Doctor :
But now you have a infected ones
Doctor :
and your constant handling made them worse
User :   Is there some form of pill that helps with Acne?
Doctor :
Topical are best
Doctor :   Oral pills are not as better as topical ones
User :   Okay thank you very much I will get ahold of my doctor today-
Doctor :   Yes

Doctor :
Is there anything else I can help you with
User :   actually yes-
Doctor :
Please do follow up with me what happened.
User :   for the past 5 months i've been not feeling good- upset stomach-
User :   I've done research and I believe i'm lactose intolorant
Doctor :
User :   anything with dairy- even a small amount makes me sick
Doctor :
What are your symptoms
User :   so thats cut alot out of my diet- i've tried the lactose pills- and they dont seem to work
User :   well after consuming anything with a small percentage of dairy- about half hour later- my stomach starts cramping up, my stomach gurgles horribly
Doctor :   ok
User :   Diarrhea, nausea
User :   so because I can't eat anything with dairy- my eating habits are horrible- and after 5 months my stomch constantly hurts
Doctor :
Did you avoid these things and try
Doctor :
Read food labels to find out if a food has lactose in it.
Doctor :   I know it is hard to find foods without them
User :   yes I've cut out all dairy product although I've cut out the obvious I still find myself eating something that has milk in it- and end up suffering in the long run.
Doctor :
Butter, cheese, cream, dried milk, lactose,
milk, milk solids, powdered milk, whey
Doctor :   are the ones you have to avoid
User :   very hard- theres not alot out there. Is there a prescription from the dr that would help the stomach? I was given protonix to begin with and tht did seem to help but not prevent
Doctor :
A liquid that you add to milk before drinking. The liquid is called lactase enzyme drops.
Doctor :   If you cannot eat or drink these foods, you may need to eat other foods with calcium

User :   okay will ask her about that to- thank you very much- you've been very helpful!
Doctor :   canned salmon with bones
collard greens
turnip greens
Doctor :   Please fill the feedback form
User :   I will do that
Doctor :
Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :
Bye for now.
