User :   Hello
I have been diagnosed with Cellulitis & two small abscess have formed in the inflamed area. My Dr. prescribed Cephalexin which I have taken for 24 hours. The Dr. informed me I may need to go to the hospital this weekend if the medicine does not help. After 24 hours the area is less inflamed but the abscess still hurts very bad. I don't have a fever. Should I go to the hospital or keep trying the Cephalexin for a few days before I go. Also can I put a pad on the abscess to help with pain because my clothes rub on it. My father recommended 2nd skin pads..
Thank you so much

Doctor :   and yes you can put pads on the abscess but do not make it airtight

User :   What about exercise? Can I do some Cardiovascular exercise like recumbent bike?
Doctor :   if possible express the pus which will relieve you of pain
