Doctor :   Hi
User :   hello
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   hoe can i help u
User :   i have a small pea size lump under my skin that hurts, on my right side above my naval area
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   how long have u had this ?
Doctor :   does the lump move , can it be separated from the skin of the belly?
Doctor :   can it be compressed ?
User :   about 1 month, i feel fine other than the lump, if i mash the lump pain runs downwards towards belt line, mild pain in lower back area. but feel constant pain in the lump area
User :   it does not move
Doctor :   is it hard, soft or stony hard ?
User :   it is hard
Doctor :   does it hide when u lie down ?
Doctor :   can u reduce it by compressing it ?
User :   no, it stays when i lie down and doesnt compress
Doctor :   the site of the lesion indicates that it could be arising either within the skin or beneath it, it could be a cyst arising from the umbilical area remnants
User :   yes its just under this skin but is not visble to the eye
Doctor :   can u send a picture of the lesion to
Doctor :   so that i can have a view and then guide u accordingly
Doctor :   but most probably, it could be a cyst, and may not cause much issues
User :   well it cant be seen , its under the skin and nothing to take a picture of
Doctor :   most probably , in that case, it may progressively enlarge over years , but will not cause much severe symptoms or complications
User :   ok, is it possible it could be cancerous ?
Doctor :   no not at all
Doctor :   can i have ur age ?
User :   51
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   the chances of such benign lesions increase with age
Doctor :   it could be a lipoma (fat mass) or a lymph node, or a cyst as i explained
User :   do they normally hurt ?
Doctor :   each have different features & can be made sure when examined first hand
Doctor :   no
Doctor :   not at all
Doctor :   they are benign lesions
Doctor :   most probably they can be left as such, if they do not cause much issues or discomfort
User :   so its abnormal that i would experince pain then ?
Doctor :   if u have pain , then it better be examined, to rule out cyst infection or something else
Doctor :   its better that u see your GP , who can take the required steps
User :   ok, i will talk to my gp...thank you
Doctor :   u r welcome
Doctor :   that will be a correct step
Doctor :   Do u have any other issue
