User :   Hi
Doctor :   Hi
User :   I have been trying to get pregnant for the past 10 months and nothing worked out still. Everything is normal with me and my husband other than a 8 cm subserol fibroid on the posterior wall of the uterus. Will this fibroid affect my infertilty?
Doctor :   Let me go through your query.
User :   ok
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   Usually sub serosal fibroids do not cause infertlity.
User :   That means it may affect alos
User :   also
User :   Is there any kind of risk in Myoctemy
Doctor :   Have you consulted a gynecologist.
User :   yes
User :   She told me to do a Myoctemy since we are flying t US
Doctor :   What exactly was her treatment protocol?
Doctor :   Ok.
User :   she has been montoring my ovulation induction and did iui last month
User :   still nothing worked out
User :   my concern is if the fibroid is not the cause of infertility, then wats the point of doing a suregery
User :   then surgery will be again an unnecessary thing
Doctor :   Yeah but there can be case in which the fibroid may change the usual shape of the uterus,
Doctor :   also its antiflexion, natural position.
Doctor :   Could you give me some more details?
User :   wat details u need
Doctor :   Could you let me know your age? The size of the fibroid.
User :   27 years, 8cm fibroid
User :   if it is changing the shape of uterus then it will be seen thru the an ultrasound right
Doctor :   Yeah for sure, but 8cm is not a small one.
Doctor :   And hence a minimally invasive hysteroscopic surgeries can be done.
User :   is there any problems in myoctemy
User :   ?
User :   risks involved
Doctor :   As There are not any currently available medicines that will permanently shrink fibroids
Doctor :   Myomectomy is comparitively not a very complicate dprocedure.
User :   ok
User :   Have u seen any cases who had a infertilty problem with this kind of fibroid? and got pregnant after the myoctemy
Doctor :   I am a general physician. And hence we do not deal with myomectomy day in & day out, but fibroids are a big cause for infertilty in women.
Doctor :   The advantage of laparoscopic myomectomy is that it is usually done as an outpatient, and allows faster recovery than a laparotomy.
User :   so i think removing the fibroid will increase the fertility right?
User :   any idea how many days wil it take to recover after surgery
User :   and how long should i be on rest
Doctor :   Yeah for sure there would be increase in the chances of conception once the fibroid is removed.
User :   can i continue my regular exercise and yoga after the surgery
User :   how many days will it take to recover after the surgery
Doctor :   I think you need to discuss
Doctor :   with the gynecologist about the type of surgery she would prefer,
User :   my gynaec preferred for an open surgery since the size is big
User :   and i also prefer that
Doctor :   as research suggests that laparoscopic heals sooner, but to get pregnant laparotomy is better as the gynecologist can effectively see and perform the surgery.
User :   ok
Doctor :   Yeah she is right.
User :   i just want to know like what is the recovery time for a general surgery
User :   is it possbile to conitue all the physical exerxise after a surgery
Doctor :   So if it is the laparotomy it might usually take two weeks.
User :   u mean complete bed rest for 2 weeks
Doctor :   After one month you need to check how the surgery has healed and the gynecologist would advise you based on the examination.
User :   is it complete 2 weeks bed rest
Doctor :   Yes.
User :   can u give me ur personal email id
User :   or chat i
User :   id
Doctor :   If you have more quetions you can mail me
Doctor :   We will get back to you.
User :   i think its a general email id right
Doctor :   i will personally reply to you on this,
