User :   please not that i am breastfeeding a 6 month old baby

User :   i was tested for borderline thyriod..i am taking thyronorm 50 mcg for last 1.5yrs

Doctor :   According to the symptoms, you probably are having upper respiratory tract infection.
Doctor :   The cause for it is probably viral.
User :   ok
Doctor :   I shall suggest you these few measures that can help you.
Doctor :   1. Viral infections do not need antibiotics, they are self curing illness.
Doctor :   2. Take simple antipyretics such as tab calpol 500mg twice or thrice a day.
Doctor :   3. Warm salt water gargles thrice a day for 2 -3 day.
Doctor :   4. Drink plenty of water and include plenty of vegetables in your diet.
Doctor :   5. Since you are lactating, I will not recommend the use of antibiotics now,
User :   can i continue breastfeeding
Doctor :   However if your symptoms are persisting for more than 3 days or if your symptoms aggravates you can use simple penicillin group of antibiotics.
Doctor :   You will however need a prescription from the doctor to obtain it.
Doctor :   You can continue breast feeding, however, its better to stay away from your child during other times, untill your symtoms have improved.
Doctor :   Viral upper respiratory infections spread by drop let inhalation.
Doctor :   There are chances that you can spread the viral infection to your child.
Doctor :   Breast feeding is ok, but the more you are with your child, the greater will be the chances of you spreading the infections.
Doctor :   Follow the measures as suggested.

Doctor :   The infections usually will subside in 3 to 5 days.
Doctor :   If they persist for more than 5 days or if your symptoms are aggravated, then you may need antibiotics then.
Doctor :   And lastly
Doctor :   watch out for development of rashes, presence of blood from urine and so on.
Doctor :   If you notice any such symptoms, then you need to report to your doctor to look for presence of dengue infections.
