User :   Hi
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I am Dr. xxx
User :   Nice to meet you. I'm Cxxxx
Doctor :   Coty, please go ahead
User :   Okay, so, my girlfriend is a recoving bulemic, and she has stopped since late August.
User :   However, her body still refuses food, since it has fallen into that cycle of eating, then vomiting
Doctor :   YEs
User :   She told me that her doctor told her there is a way to stop it, but it requires lots of shots, which she refuses to take.
User :   She's 19, and about 96 lbs
Doctor :   Ok
User :   Is there a way that she can get her body out of this pattern? So she can actually stomach food and not end up dead?
Doctor :   Actually treating a bulimic is challenging for a doctor too
User :   Well, I know it';s a psychological thing mainly
Doctor :   I think at this rate definitely she will not go into further crisis
Doctor :   Actually it requires both the participation
Doctor :   of the person and the more interference by the doctor
Doctor :   What I do with my patients is I definitely hospitalize them for a week or two
User :   That's what I was thinking, commiting her for a week...
Doctor :   and give them the nutrition by IV and then slowly switch to oral
User :   Monetary wise... how much would that cost me?
Doctor :   I am not really sure
User :   It's a hospital, it's going to be expensive either way :\
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   No insurance?
User :   Nope
Doctor :   Hmm..
Doctor :   But I think life is worthless
User :   Not that I know of at least
Doctor :   sorry worthy than paying at hospital
Doctor :   You can define your role here
User :   Other than hospitilization, is there any other way to wean her off this habit?
Doctor :   You have to give an immense social and psychological support to her
User :   Hospitalization**
Doctor :   More emotional bonding
Doctor :   Try to comply to her requests and at the same time giving her the necessary dietitian recommendations
User :   Like me coaxing her to eat and such?
Doctor :   Might be you have to
User :   Occasionally I can get her to eat
Doctor :   Take the dietitian or nutritionist recommendation
User :   But I was informed tonight that the last time I did it, after I fell asleep she went and threw up
Doctor :   Ok
User :   So... I guess my main question here is...
User :   What the hell do I do to save her life?
Doctor :   More bonding and convincing her to hospitalize
Doctor :   or listen to your advice
Doctor :   Bulimics never die do not worry
Doctor :   They frequently fall ill
Doctor :   thought
User :   From lack of nutrition? She's starving herself pretty much
User :   She's anorexic, and when she eats, she's bulimic
User :   She just told me she hasn't urinated in three days
Doctor :   Oh
Doctor :   is it?
Doctor :   Then it need a IV fluid administration
User :   Is what?
Doctor :   she needs hospitalization atleast for next 48 to 72 hours now
User :   Is there a chance her kidneys could fail?
Doctor :   then you can get her home
Doctor :   yes
User :   ...
Doctor :   Please take her to ER
Doctor :   now
User :   We don't have the money for this though...
Doctor :   and get thorough assessment
User :   Okay... my time in this chat is up.
User :   Thaks for your help doc...
User :   I appreciate it...
Doctor :   Pleasure
Doctor :   But I still ask to go for ER
Doctor :   and get assessed
Doctor :   Life is precious
User :   I know it is...
