i last had my period on the 17th of september, i had sex on the 6,7,8 of october, around the 15th i started experiencing lower back ache on the right side like my period was going to start, 16th -18th intensity increased so much so i thought it would start any minute. it did not start 18th - 23rd i had various symptoms weird i thought, like waking up early moring feeling hot then went away, tiredness at the end of the day, started going to the bathroom a little more frequently, breast felt a little more heavier but not excessive.23rd to 26th the back ache continued, a lot of bloating, i felt very thirsty as if i could drink a basin of water not all at once but as if that's all i wanted,a feeling of fullness to the lower abdomen, twinges, pulling to lower right abdomen swollen least i thought my period had started on the 26th in the afternoon but the flow was about 1/4 of my normal flow on the first day where i would usually change pads at least 3 times it was a darker red, by the afternoon of the next day 27th the flow was about a third of my normal flow by the niight it abruptly stopped rather than trailing off in the morning 28th there was just brown discharge. My heavy feeling breat continued and now gets a little heavier in the evenings and night and niplles more tender at nights, the twinges and pulling conts kinda feels like it has moved ytowards the the midlle of lower stomachi've i'm now going to bathroom at least 6 - 8 times in 12 -14 hour time frame when i go its a small amount even though i feel like my bladder is filling up.lately i'm also getting tension headache son and off. i did a home test twice and it came back negative, but my symptoms continue and that's why i'm wonering if i'm pregnant or could it be something else. i also have pcos but my periods have
User :   been regular for the last 5 years or so with one instance where it was late, that's waht i thought at first until the symptoms continued, oh also at times i feel light headed
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Let me read the query.
User :   hello
User :   okay
Doctor :   May I know your age?
User :   39
Doctor :   Did you use protection during the sexual act?
User :   no
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   When was the last pregnancy test done?
User :   yesterday, i did the 1st on monday
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me brief you.
Doctor :   Do you have burning sensation, or pain while passing urine?
User :   none at all, no odor, fairly clear in color- yellowish
Doctor :   Since I am unable to perform a physical examination, I cannot pinpoint the exact cause, however, I shall provide you with the necessary information
Doctor :   The following can cause symptoms similar to yours
Doctor :   1. Pregnancy - I would suggest you to get a blood HCG levels checked to confirm your the report of home pregnancy test
Doctor :   2. Infection - genitourinary infection can cause increased frequency of urination with lower abdominal/back pain, disturbing the menstrual cycle
Doctor :   3. Stress factors can also contribute to such symptoms
Doctor :   4. Rarely are endocrine and hormonal factors responsible for such symptoms.
Doctor :   Any of these causes may be responsible for your symptoms.
Doctor :   Hence I would suggest you the following measures.
Doctor :   1. Get a blood HCG levels to verify the reports of the urine pregnancy tests.
Doctor :   2. Drink plenty of water - atleast 2 litres of water per day is necessary
Doctor :   3. Improved nutrition and adequate bed rest
Doctor :   4. Use simple analgesics such as paracetamol tablets if pain is severe, higher painkillers can affect pregnancy (if you are pregnant)
Doctor :   5. Lastly, I would also recommend you to consult a doctor - gynaecologist for examination and evaluation, if your symptoms are persisting or if these measures fail to provide you with enough clues to know what the cause for your symptoms are.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   i am making an appointment with an OB/GYN, i do need to increase my fluid volume. would a cyst on the ovaries cause my symptoms?
Doctor :   Yes, they can also be responsible for the following symptoms.
Doctor :   I mean your symptoms.
Doctor :   A growing cyst alone can be the cause for these symptoms too.
Doctor :   They can however be diagnosed by physical examination and ultrasound tests.
User :   okay thank you for your time and advice, should i ask for a transvaginal us also regardless of result?
Doctor :   The treatment is such case will depend on the ultra sound findings.
Doctor :   An abdominal ultrasound is better in the diagnosis of ovarian cysts, than a transvaginal ultrasound.
Doctor :   for better calculation of the size and to determine if a surgical removal would be necessary.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?

Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me. Please log back and chat with us, if you have any further queries.
