User :   its very sensitive and numb
User :   and everytime i put my hand down my thumb really hurts
User :   but i when i pick it up it doesnt hurt as much as it does when my hand is down
Doctor :   the black spot is due to extravasation of the blood and it will regress on its own
User :   is it broken or sprained?
User :   do i need a splint or anything?
Doctor :   i advice you to get an Xray of the thumb and rule out any fractures
Doctor :   yes, you need to immobilize it with as soplint
Doctor :   splint*
User :   did i do any damage to the nerves or anything because anytime i put my hand down it hurts a lot but when i pick it up it doesnt hurt as much
Doctor :   no, not the nerves but you would have injured your blood vessels which is the reason of the pain when kept in dependent position
