Doctor :   Hi,
User :   Hi, i found out I was 5 weeks pregnant 1-11-2011 and 2 days later i started bleeding heavy and cramping. I was told that it may be a threaten abortion. My BHCG levels were very low(9) and 4 days later no bleeding just brown spotting. Is there a chance that it could of been something other than a miscarriage? Im not in any pain nor did I pass any tissue through the bleeding
Doctor :   May i know how may pads did you change during the bleeding first time ?
User :   I changed pads about 2 an hour just to see if any new blood was appearing and how much
Doctor :   were they soaked more ?
Doctor :   was it more than a regular bleeding ?
User :   it was heavy for about two days and the 3rd day is slowed down and now today just light brown spotting
User :   the doctor said it was moderate bleeding
Doctor :   ok, i too consider the possibility of a threatened abortion than anything normal
User :   I am no longer bleeding so could this have been maybe something eles other than a miscarriage? it only lasted 4 days
Doctor :   a bleeding for 2 to 3 days of moderate amount is a very strong sign of abortion
User :   what I am asking is are ther other possible reasons for this? I have heared there could be but I am not sure the reasons
Doctor :   no , implantation bleeding is one such possibility , but the bleeding will be very minimal
User :   ok and if this was an abortion, now that i have no more bleeding do I just go on with life or do I need to see a doctor?
Doctor :   since the HGC levels are also getting down the abortion is a inevitable diagnosis
User :   is it possible the hcg levels can increase at this time if the baby is still here?
Doctor :   no , its a rising curve , it should never decrease in the pregnancy at any given time
User :   ok thanks alot
