User :   it is a lot of work to make it here... lots of emails... a battle
User :   but here we are
User :   can you see my previous chats?
Doctor :   Yes, i am going through your previous chats
User :   Thank you
Doctor :   please give me a couple of minutes
User :   sure
Doctor :   Ok, XXXX please proceed
User :   My question is: since I have had hep C for so long, is there a chance that the angiogram may damage the artery because of the possible back pressure that is caused by my liver not allowing continious and normal blood flow?
Doctor :   Not at al, because the angiogram will study the patency of the lumen of the vessels supplying blood to the heart
Doctor :   ECHOCARDIOGRAM may help you to knoe the effects of portal hypertension
User :   but as the device passes from my leg to a place near my heart, doesn't it pass through the artery that is adjacent to my liver?
Doctor :   portal hypertension means increased pressure in liver blood vessels
Doctor :   not at al,
User :   so not in any major artery?
User :   I am refering to an angiogram
Doctor :   it do pass through the major artery to enter the caronary vessels but not in the liver
User :   got it
Doctor :   yes, i am with you
User :   is there a possibility that blockage can ge to extensive for a stent to work?
Doctor :   i didnt understand
User :   During the angiogram the doctor said that if they see blockage then they will put in a stent
Doctor :   yes,it is rite
User :   can the blockage be too much for a stent to be effective?
Doctor :   yes , sometimes when block is more open heart surgery might be needed
User :   hummmm.... ok
User :   is that often the case or not often?
Doctor :   not much often, because the full block cases do present as emergency , may not survive the attack sometimes
User :   I had an treadmill EKG ... normal results... if I conbine that with an ECO... will the combination let the doctor know is I have a blockage?
Doctor :   yes, they do halp but not to the extent as angio
Doctor :   help*
User :   I understand
User :   will it give a 60% reliable reading.. Or a 50%... about what percent accuracy can the combination offer?
Doctor :   yes they do combine producing 60 % accuracy
User :   ok
User :   Ok
User :   Another thing... my AST level was 320... way high... but I never had high readings... never... I suspect the gastro meds may have induced the reading
User :   never had a high reading of any liver enzyme in many years
Doctor :   what medicines ?
User :   I don't have time to locate them... but I know that a few kinds can give high AST readings
User :   the AST confused me
Doctor :   yes there are many which do cause rise of ast
User :   I have had powerful indigestion for about 10 days.... but 3 days ago I found anticids in XXXXX and the problem lessend a lot
Doctor :   good,
User :   the indigestion and the ache in the center of my chest and the ache in my right arm all seem to go together
Doctor :   can happen, the nerves supplying the above structures do overlap causing reffered pain
User :   that makes sense
User :   your advise... do the ECO.... and then the angiogram?
Doctor :   yes, thats the sequence
User :   I am afraid of the angiogram'
User :   but it seems pretty "ordinary"
Doctor :   its common now a days
User :   is there a reasonable possibility that this is a gastro problem and not as heart problrm?
User :   hey, times up THANKS!
Doctor :   80% i do think of gastro
