User :   Ive had feelings in my chest all my life about 5 or 6 times a month, where it almost feels like a catching feeling in my heart, like my heart skipped a beat or something. Its very unsettling and lasts a anywhere from a quick second to an extended 3 or 4 seconds. It usually happens once, maybe a 2nd time shortly after then its done. However, today at work it happened stronger than it ever has before and lasted about 10 seconds and my head had an intense rush of heat and pressure. i thought my brain was going to explode! Whats going on, should i be worried? I have a light sensation of pressure between my ears all day before this happened, but when the heart thing happened it was really severe.
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hello
Doctor :   let me read
User :   I should mention, i suffered from neurological lyme symptoms for 6 months before being treated with antibiotics for a long period of time. my dr thought it might be time for me to come off the antibiotics, which ive been off them for 2 weeks now, so maybe the lyme is returning
Doctor :   may i know your age
User :   23
Doctor :   have you got any ECG done ?
User :   Over a year ago
User :   it was normal
Doctor :   ok
User :   chest xray also, recent MRI and brain cat scan were normal as well
Doctor :   ok it is for the neurological lyme
Doctor :   do you have any other medical condition
User :   a have a heart murmor
User :   but nothing else that im aware of
User :   I had the cat scan for the migraine pain and pressure i was having because of the lyme, and the blurry vision
Doctor :   heart murmur what is the cause ?
User :   this was pre lyme diagnosis
User :   it developed while i was suffering before lyme treatment
User :   im not sure, the Dr didnt seem concerned about it
Doctor :   lyme causes neurological manifestations not cardiolog
Doctor :   if you have a feeling of skip beat or racing of heart at times
User :   the skip beat feeling yes
Doctor :   get an base line ECG done
User :   ok
Doctor :   and the physical examination by the cardiologist
Doctor :   if it is normal
Doctor :   than to go for the stress tests
User :   it only happens once a week if that, will an ecg pick up on an issue even if its not happening while i am hooked up to it?
Doctor :   if stress test also do not give any results than you will be put on holter monitoring
Doctor :   this will usually record the skip beat
Doctor :   depending on the type of rhythm abnormality recorder cause can be found and treated accordingly
Doctor :   recorded*
User :   ok
User :   if it happens again before i can get this done
User :   what can i do when that head pressure happens with it
Doctor :   when you have the episode of the skip beat feeling or racing of the heart. sit down at one place and try to relax
Doctor :   if you are feeling giddy lie down
Doctor :   till the episode aborts
User :   i have a history of anxiety and panic attacks
Doctor :   ok
User :   im sure that doesnt help the situation does it
Doctor :   since you have a murmur and cause is not known it is difficult to say anything now
Doctor :   if the cardiac cause is not there for the skip beats
Doctor :   than yes the panic attack does produce this kind of episodes
