User :   I was installing a floor and when finished I pushed myself up using my fist and somehow rolled across the knuckle of my little finger, it's now been 6 weeks and although it does not hurt most of the time, if I barely touch the knuckle it still has intense pain. Any ideas?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Dr here
Doctor :   from the history you have given it seems that you may be having tendinitis
Doctor :   do u have any redness or swelling in that area ?
User :   Just on the one knuckle?
User :   No swelling
Doctor :   do u have any pain when you move or extend your little finger ?
User :   No
Doctor :   In that case , there is nothing serious
User :   Just if I slightly touch the top of the knuckle
Doctor :   this is just soft tissue injury due to pressure and compression injury
Doctor :   you can take some ibuprofen for the pain and apply some ice packs to the affected part
User :   Any time frame
Doctor :   It should subside usually within a week or two
User :   Ok thanks
Doctor :   But since the pain has been there, for 6 weeks , it would be beneficial to get a Xray of the hand, to rule out any fracture of the little finger
Doctor :   In that case application of a hand splint and adequate rest would be beneficial
User :   Thanks again
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   Do u have any other queries ?
Doctor :   thanks and take care
Doctor :   bye for now
