User :   I got a dog bite (from another dog that was trying to pounce on mine) about a week and some ago, and it was small enough not to worry about, and there was no signs of infection. Recently, 4 days about now, I've been having chest discomfort. It isn't really pain but it bothers me/is noticable. Often more less then stronger. It feels like my chest area is cold, but when I touch it, it is not. Sometimes I get it on the right side, but often on the left side. I'm not sure if its all in my head after I started reading about dog bites, but I can't be sure. Yesterday I did have a pretty sore back though, and I don't recall doing anything that would strain me except taking the dog out, but he does PULL quite alot.
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Also, it comes and goes, its not always.
User :   hello
Doctor :   Please give me a couple of minutes to read this
User :   Okay
Doctor :   I shall be able to give you a reply
Doctor :   When was the first dog bite and when was the last one?
User :   Oh, it was only one bite, one fang got through to my skin
User :   it was about a week ago
Doctor :   Did you bleed when bitten?
User :   Yeah I did
Doctor :   I mean notice of blood at least?
Doctor :   Is it a pet dog?
Doctor :   or stray one?
User :   It was yeah, it was another dog, not mine, but that dog has had all his shots/etc
User :   was a pet dog though
Doctor :   Great
Doctor :   Nothing to worry
Doctor :   about the chance of rabies
Doctor :   Now coming to your current symptoms
Doctor :   How many times you had the chest pain like symptom
Doctor :   and how long does it generally last?
User :   It's been often enough since it started, it can last a hour or two, sometimes not that much though.
Doctor :   Did you have fever at any instance
User :   It's bugging me though, but not painfully, just annoying, no fevers
Doctor :   Do you have cold / cough / sorethroat or muscle ache else where?
User :   I did have a muscle ache on my back
Doctor :   When was your last tetanus shot?
User :   yesterday, it was pretty bad, but it was almost gone.
User :   Last one was probably in highschool, but uh.. 7 years? I had all those shots in school when i was a kid
Doctor :   Was the first aid taken after the dog bite?
User :   from gr 1 or wahtever and up
User :   yes
User :   kept it clean and watched it, no infections visible
Doctor :   Tetanus shot after the bite
User :   No, didn't do that.
Doctor :   Ok, Tetanus shot is beneficial since it bled
Doctor :   That was the only thing missing
Doctor :   Coming to the symptoms again
User :   Yeah, unfortunatly I'm not sure how benifical it will be a week up now, I heard its only good for the first 24 hours. I'm worried about that but I haven't gotten anything like lockjaw or anything.
Doctor :   I do not relate your symptoms to any disease process
Doctor :   Be watchful as you are now
Doctor :   The incubation period is for 15 days
User :   That's good at least.
Doctor :   So be watchful for next 1-2 weeks
Doctor :   The early signs of high fever, malaise,
User :   Okay, so if it doesn't stop within 15 days I should head to the doctor?
User :   or those issues?
Doctor :   Muscle cramps
Doctor :   should call for a doctor
Doctor :   You can head to a doctor if the symptoms carry more than 15 days
User :   Okay thanks
User :   Should I keep an eye out for anything else? or that all?
Doctor :   THat is all
User :   Ok thanks!
User :   take care then!
Doctor :   You too
