Doctor :   this is Dr here
Doctor :   how may i help you today?
User :   Hi. I have a swollen gland on the left side of my neck just under my jaw. It's gotten worse over the past three days and now is tender to swallow food and water. I can feel it just by gliding my hand over the area. I also have an issue with my left eye. The inner most corner is red and swollen. The eye thing happened first and the swollen gland the day after. Neither have gotten better. Any suggestions?
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   I guess that you have a viral infection, affecting the eye as well as the upper respiratory tract
User :   oh and I have no sore throat
Doctor :   which can cause some Lymph node enlargement in the neck
User :   or cold symptoms
Doctor :   how long have you had this problem?
Doctor :   Any visual loss, or pain in eye, ?
User :   it's now been 4 days. no visual loss or pain in the eye. It feels irritated and sometimes like there is something in it but I see nothing in it. I've just been using eye drops to soothe it
Doctor :   what drops have you been using?
Doctor :   and is there any yellow discharge from the eyes?
User :   Systane rewetting drops. I called my eye doctor about it since I had Lasik back in November and they told me to use drops. But with the swollen gland on the same side as the affected eye I thought maybe there was a connection.
User :   no yellow discharge.
User :   but I can feel my eye is swollen
Doctor :   may i know your age, weight please ?
User :   26 and I am about 148
Doctor :   have you taken any medications , antibiotics etc?
User :   no
Doctor :   may i know the reason for lasik ? was it coz of near vision, etc?
User :   It was just because I was tired of depending on glasses.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   ANY fever, headache , breathing problems etc ? recently?
User :   nope. no other symptoms than the ones I listed above
Doctor :   I would advise you that this condition is self limited and will subside in a few days.
User :   ok and if it doesn't should I see my family doctor or my eye doctor?
Doctor :   please consult your doctor for some eyedrops with steroids,
Doctor :   this will help you releive the symptoms effectively,
Doctor :   But this needs a prescription, which is given after examining the eye.
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me, bye for now.
