User :   found the mass yesterday

Doctor :   Do you have any discharge from the swelling?
User : hubby is an anesthesiologist and at first thought it might b a cyst but its immobile and hard. so he dosent know what it is
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Can you you notice any discoloration over the swelling or any discharge from it?
User :   no looks normal until u touch it and feel the small mass
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Do you have similar swellings else where in the body?
User :   no otherwise i am good
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me brief you.
Doctor :   Due to the short onset of the condition, its unlikely to be a mass originating from the structures of the joint or the bone, but
Doctor :   it probably may be an inflammatory lesion arising due an infective cause.
Doctor :   However, since I cannot perform a physical examination, I cannot confirm the exact nature of the swelling or the cause for it.
Doctor :   I would hence suggest you to see a doctor - an orthopedician for physical examination.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   yes. i will but u really gave no insight what so ever. i know i need to c a doc but thought u would
User :   have more insight as to waht it may b. there is no swelling. just a palpaable pea size mass
User :   my finf
Doctor :   Your description of the swelling can either be due to an inflammatory lesion or a corn.
User :   my finger looks normal
User :   ok thank u
Doctor :   Since the treatment are different for both the conditions, you would need a physical examination to confirm the causes.
Doctor :   Hence its appropriate that you consult a doctor.
