User :   hi sir....actually yesterday i did hiv elisa hiv 1 and hiv 2 and heb b.both non reactive after 10 weeks exposore.
Doctor :   Ok
User :   sir just want to know if futher testing is required or not.
Doctor :   HIV elisa tests are based on detecting antibodies in the body.
Doctor :   HIV and other infections antibody detections are affected by window period, a period where the antibodies may not be seen in the blood in spite of infections.
Doctor :   In case of HIV, this window period in most individuals is between 2weeks to 3 months.
Doctor :   So as far as HIV is concerned, since you have got the test at the 10th week which is close to 3 months, you need not worry.
Doctor :   The chance that you can have be infected by HIV is very, very, very less.
Doctor :   The chances is less than 1%.
Doctor :   Hepatitis B has a much larger window period between 2weeks to 6 months.
Doctor :   The chances of Hepatitis now is less but a repeat test after 6 months may be necessary to rule it out though.

Doctor :   That is right.

Doctor :   What clarifications are you looking for?
Doctor :   I would not recommend further HIV testing, however a few doctor's suggest a repeat HIV test after 6 months are necessary, if the exposure is a high risk one and possibility of HIV is strongly suspected.
Doctor :   Hepatis B is advised after 6 months, if you are looking to completely rule the infection out.

Doctor :   This includes avoiding constipation, chronic cough, severe abdominal exercises and so on.
