Doctor :   Let me brief you.
Doctor :   Since I cannot perform a physical examination on your dad, I am unable to pinpoint the exact cause these symptoms, however,
Doctor :   I shall provide you with the necessary information.
Doctor :   Swelling of eyes and around the eyes can occur due to a local eye problem such as allergic causes,
Doctor :   however, in view of his past illness of diabetes, other systemic causes for such swelling of the eyes need to be looked for.
Doctor :   Systemic causes such as renal problems and cardiac problems may have to be ruled out.'
Doctor :   This is possible only by a physical examination and by investigations.
User :   and yes he used to eat tobacco...
User :   but now he don't....
Doctor :   Diabetes and alcoholism with tobacco can induce cardiac and renal problems, hence my sugestion is to consult a physician for physical examination and the necessary investigations.
User :   but the intake of tobacco was excess....5 or 6 packets a day...
User :   ok.
Doctor :   In the mean time, reduce the fluid and water intake during those episodes.
User :   what is renal and cardiac problem
Doctor :   The other necessary measures would be decided following the evaluation.
Doctor :   Swelling of the eyelids and around the eyes are known symptoms of highoutput conditions as seen in renal or cardiac failure.
Doctor :   They are inturn caused by various risk factors such as diabetes, tobacco, alcoholism.
User :   ok.
Doctor :   Apart from this the other most common causes are the local eye factors as mentioned to you earlier.
Doctor :   Hence I suggest you to consult a physician for the evaluation of those systemic conditions if any.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   so anything which he should not include in his diet
User :   yes doctor...
Doctor :   Follow a strict diabetic diet as suggested by your doctor now,
Doctor :   the other dietary restriction can only be determined
Doctor :   after determining the exact cause.
Doctor :   Alcohol restriction and tobacco restriction is a must.
User :   ok
