Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here.
Doctor :   how can I help you?
Doctor :   please proceed with your health query
User :   Hi
User :   Do I have to type the whole question again?
Doctor :   I am sorry, I did not get your question
User :   thats ok. Two years ago I was diagnosed as having Bipolar II after a suicide attempt landed me in a psychiatric hospital. Sense then I have had more depression episodes with a few episodes of feeling better that usually only lasted a couple of weeks. A couple months ago I again was feeling suicidal and came close to doing it again. A couple weeks after that I again felt better for about 3 weeks and went right back into the depression with the suicidal feelings again. Is this normal for someone with Bipolar II?
Doctor :   ok. let me read what you have typed. please give me sometime.
Doctor :   it is normal to keep getting bouts of suicidal tendencies.
Doctor :   are you on any medication at present?
Doctor :   when was your last follow up with your doctor?
User :   yes and sadly it isnt working.
Doctor :   the symptoms need to be controlled. if teh present medication effects are wearing of
Doctor :   then you should consider asking for change in medication along with supportive therapies
User :   I have seen my psychiatrist a couple weeks ago and Im in weekly counseling sessions but both of them have made it seem like I need to be over this
Doctor :   like counseling sessions and behavior therapy to help you overcome these symptoms
User :   Yes but its more targeted towards getting over being raped
Doctor :   yes, they are right in telling you that you 'need to be over this', but it takes time, each persons responds differently.
Doctor :   I am sorry. may I ask if the suicidal thoughts are related to being 'raped'?
User :   yes mainly they are
Doctor :   how did the Bipolar get precipitated?
User :   what do you mean?
Doctor :   you said two years ago you were diagnosed to have bipolar disorder
Doctor :   hence I asked what made the symptoms get precipitated if you were normal two years back?
User :   Im not sure. I dont understand the whole bipolar thing
Doctor :   ok.
Doctor :   your symptoms need proper control with medications and additional therapies. you also need to have positive attitude and strive to be what you were a few years ago, a normal person, without any problems
Doctor :   you can achieve this by thinking of good things around you and about you
Doctor :   and diverting your mind to other things/happy things when faced with difficult situations that lead to suicidal thoughts.
User :   Ok. thanks for the help.
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   Nope, there is nothing else.
Doctor :   ok. thanks for consulting me. bye for now.
