User:hi doctor
Doctor:
Please proceed with your query
User:my kid is 1 yr and 6 days old
Doctor:Ok
User:yesterday night he was coughing continuously
Doctor:Ok
User:he has this cough for more than a month
User:but y'day it was contunous like every 15 min he is coughing
Doctor:I see, what treatment has been done till now?
User:we were using TRUMP-D syrup
Doctor:Ok
Doctor:Anything else?
User:he doesn't have cold
Doctor:Ok, understood
User:1 month back he got fever
Doctor:Has he been given any antibiotics till now?
User:and antibiotics were prescribed
User:fever went off
Doctor:Ok which ones were those?
User:Phexin
Doctor:Ok, that is Cephalhexin
User:yes
Doctor:You will need to take him back to the pediatrician and get a sputum culture done
Doctor:the antibiotic may be resistant to the antibiotic given.
User:we went to him and he advised not to use antibiotics and he asked to continue with Trump-D syrup
Doctor:At the same time, try and get him a nebulizer and have him breath in plain saline nebulizations to clear up his airway
Doctor:Hmm, OK.
Doctor:The Trump D will not cure anything, if he is having a reaction to the airway, then he needs something like an antihistamine or a steroid med to bring down the inflammation. Since there is no more fever, then more antibiotics should not be needed
Doctor:but getting a sputum culture is still a good idea for safety sake.
Doctor:If he were an adult, i would recommend Budecort nebulizations twice a day
Doctor:but i'm not a pediatrician, so am hesitant to recommend the same
User:ok doctor. thank u for ur time.
Doctor:No problem
Doctor:Do you have any more queries?
User:nothing
Doctor:Thanks for visiting me here. Bye for now.
