User:Hi, i have a sentinel pile that has been there for about six months following an Anal fissure. I have just started using rectogesic and has healed fissure I think but pile still remains. will it disappear with time. It is only hard at the base but want to know best method of removal. Have tried tea tree oil and aloe Vera but no success. It is not a skin tag as base is firm and attached to outer part of anus.
Doctor:I read your post in detail
Doctor:Since you mention that its an external pile, there are good chances of it getting disappear on its own.
Doctor:Only consideration you should have is not to stain at stools.
Doctor:So, taking a laxative would help you here
User:Have just started stool softners and metamucil allow with drinking plenty of water
Doctor:That's good, please continue the same
User:It not hanging from hole but seems attached just outside is that normal?
Doctor:that's a good sign, Pile which is hanging or loose can face more friction during passage of stools an can get lacerations leading to pain and persistence of the pile
Doctor:Specially at the neck of the pile
Doctor:Based on your description I believe it is in the process of getting disappeared.
User:Sorry it is hanging out but not exactly at the hole base. More like 6-12 o'clock.position
Doctor:Ok, then do consider stool softening as a necessity
User:Is rectogesic the best ointment to rub on.pile?
Doctor:Rectogesic is a potent pain reliever. If you have any amount of pain, it will help to alleviate the same. Its recommended.
Doctor:Are you there ?
User:Am I to attempt to push it back in once it gets smaller?
Doctor:No, do not touch the pile or irritate it mechanically by any means
Doctor:Any sort of stress over it can cause it get minor lacerations which can worsen the same.
User:Will it naturally go back in as it has gone from big to small to big but never disappeared
Doctor:yes, for sure
Doctor:It may take time and the duration depends on the ease at which you pass stools. Hence, the stool softeners play a important role.
Doctor:Is there anything else you want to know ?
User:If commit to soft stools and previous mentions methods how long are we taking as only started being strict for 3 days.
User:How long should I wait I meant
Doctor:Well, it depends on the examination findings. I could have commented on the duration for cure only if had examined the pile
Doctor:Based on your description I could quote that it may need around 15 days to one month if stools are considerably loose and easy
User:Ok thank you hope pile goes soon as getting frustrated. Thanks.
Doctor:I wish you good health and early recovery.
Doctor:Bye for now
Doctor:Take care.
Doctor:I shall close the chat now.
