Doctor:How can I help you?
User:My query is regarding migraine..
User:Friend of mine used to have it very often, but today she had it three time continously
User:even during sleep
Doctor:These are called cluster migraines
User:which aparantly continued for 12 hour
Doctor:what medications does she take for migraines
User:but this was the first time it happened like this
User:no medics.
User:earlier it used to be once and used to get over by 3-4 hours.. starting by bluring of vision
Doctor:Ok. Well in such cases. I would recommend she take some medication
User:Is there is need for proper treatment or these are some hormonal/metabolic changes?
Doctor:The only other therapy that can helps to a lottle extent is ixygen therapy where she has to breath 4 litres of O2 for a few hours
Doctor:but the meds are better
Doctor:Migraines are not well known as to the cause. We believe that they are metabolic changes in the brain
Doctor:unfortunately is just not well known
User:Do medics provide relaxment at that time/cure to migraines?
Doctor:it takes some time. but they eventually handle the headache
User:Should we visit a neurologist for it?
Doctor:problem is that they have their own side effects and the person may have excessive fatigue or pins and needle sensations
Doctor:To establish proper therapy you MUST go to a neurologist
User:She hd already visited a neurologist, but the doctor said that they could just control the headache, but not the cause..only way to stop it was to prevent the trigger "if we know of it"
User:Is there any way to reduce it?
Doctor:I disagree with that assesment
Doctor:well if you know the trigger there is nothing like it. But if you don't there is really no way of controlling on your own
User:true.. I agree with your point
User:Are you located in Bangalore?
User:Sorry, but I believe you are a neurologist?
Doctor:I am, but no i no longer practice in XXXXXXX
Doctor:i only see trauma cases and practice at RVM philanthropic hospital
