User:Since September, I have had 4 kidney infections. At one point I had a regular CT done and it showed a small cyst on my left kidney. Recently, my urologist had a US done and then a CT w/wo XXXXXXX contrast to see if there was a cause for the infections recurring. In between infections I am having severe pain on my side, exhaustion, and a low grade fever that never seems to go away. Anyway, the CT with the XXXXXXX indicated that it looked like I have a 2cm kidney cancer instead of a cyst like they originally thought. My urologist said that with a tumor that small, I should not have any symptoms at all and just prescribed more antibiotics. Plus she said that I am too young at the age of 33 to have kidney cancer. It is not indicated at the moment I have an infection, but the pain I have in my left side and back is awful and constant. Sharp stabbing pains come that make me drop to my knees. Is there anything else it could be?
Let me read your query for few minutes to be able to have a good discussion here.
Doctor:Do you have the scan reports with you?
User:no. im sorry
Doctor:Cyst and tumour are the two possibilities that are closely related to renal mass.
Doctor:Fortunately or unfortunately the report that you received is an immpression made my the radiologist.
Doctor:I am not aware of any other possibilities besides these two.
Doctor:You may consider taking a second opinion on the scan by a different radiologist
Doctor:or consider getting a MRI scan.
Doctor:It should help your doctors to diagnose the mass better.
