User:Hi Dr
User:I have a 4 month old son..he is having cough from last 3 days
User:I have consulted here with Dr Shanthi and she suggested Mucolite since my kid was having phlegm as well but no fever
User:but his cough is not getting control and even has running nose
User:he got fever day before yesterday and I gave Infant Paracetamol suspenstion and he is not having fever since then
User:can you please guide me what should I do now since his cough is not controlled and its get worst in night. he is not able to sleep
Doctor:May I know the colour of the sputum? Is it colourless or yellowish?
Doctor:Is your son active and how about his feeding?
User:he is active and taking feed also
Doctor:In children the most common cause of cough and running nose is due to viral infection.
Doctor:There is no need to worry as your child is active and feeding well too.

User:should we change medicine for Cough and running nose?
Doctor:The cough should reduce gradually in a week or so. continue with the medication
Doctor:for running nose you can add sinarest syp.
Doctor:the basic treatment here would be symptomatic only.
Doctor:so the cough syp and the sinarest syp should be enough.
User:ok...for infants, which intensity I need to ask for?
Doctor:Watch for his breathing.
User:sorry..I mean to much MG syrup for kids and what is the dosage?
Doctor:if he is has trouble in breathing or breathing hard then you might need to see a pediatrician where nebulisation might be required.
Doctor:May I know the weight of your son?

Doctor:You can ask for sinarest drops and give him 6 drops three times a day.
Doctor:Make sure the room is warm and there is proper ventilation.
