User:Hello Doctor..
User:i am a badminton player.. i play at a state level...
User:from past 5 months am suffering from back pain..
User:i rested for a month without playing but i dint consult any doctor...
User:and after a month when i started playing in just 2 days i started getting the pain..
User:so i consulted a doctor...
User:i was advised that its just a muscle pain and he directed me to a physiotherapist.. who later suggested me few exercises to strengthen my back muscle...
User:so again i rested for a month and strictly following the exercises as well.. physio asked me to start playing now.. playing from 4 days now.. and i am kind of starting to feel the pain again now...
User:so i wanted to check on this.. as to is there any severe problem wih my back..
User:please advise..
Doctor:Was any tests performed - blood tests, X-rays or scans?
User:no tested were done.. the doc stretched my leg in all possible ways and i dint have any pain while he did that..
User:ok let me be little more precise ..
Doctor:Let me brief you.
User:sure .. pls go ahead..
Doctor:Some back pains are known to be recurrent.
Doctor:The cause of recurrence cannot be predicted with evaluation.
Doctor:I understand your doctors perfomed clinical examination and ruled out major conditions. However if the pain is persistent and worsening further it needs to be reassessed.
Doctor:Now without an opportunity to physically examine you or review X-ray/scans
Doctor:I will not be able to comment further.
Doctor:At this moment, my suggestion will be to give it some more rest.
Doctor:In some cases, more resting and continued physio takes care of the problem.
Doctor:So my suggestion is to give it some more rest. Say for another 2-3 weeks.
User:oh ok... the problem is when i rest i will be fine..
Doctor:If the pain starts again, get back to the doctor for re-evaluation.
User:mean to say...
User:while i play i don't feel anything..
Doctor:Resting gives the muscles and ligaments time to heal.
Doctor:The healing time depends on the severity of the initial insult which can only be predicted through investigations.
Doctor:Further any acute insults during recovery delays healing.
Doctor:So try resting further for few more weeks
Doctor:and hope it improves.
Doctor:If it doesn't get back to the surgeon for re-evaluation.
Doctor:Have you followed what I said?
User:i prefer the XXXXXXX toilet.. so i find difficulty in standing straight.. i feel this only when i play .. when i rest i don't feel anything at all and will be completely fine...
User:Yes Doctor i understood what u suggested...
Doctor:Since you find pain with posture changes, it indicates the healing is not complete.
User:but just hoping to hear that there is no major problem with my back...
Doctor:As I said earlier, healing process can take time. This period is not standardized. Wait for some more time. If it doesn't improve, get it reevaluated.
Doctor:Do you have any other questions?
User:ok let me rest for another 3 weeks and start playing again and see.. meanwhile should i go to the doc again or just continue with exercises that physio has advised.. ??
Doctor:Continue with the exercise and measures suggested by the physio.
Doctor:Follow up with the doctor if symptoms persist.
Doctor:Any more questions?
User:ok.. fine..
User:no that's all i had..
User:thank u so much doctor..
Doctor:Thanks for visiting me here. Bye for now.
User:there is nothing major to be worried aabout.. ??
