Doctor :   Your query will be forwarded to dentist and then will get reply via email from the consultant
User :   if i tell you my dentit question do u think u could tell me if i have an infected tooth or not
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   proceed
User :   ok yesterday i went to the dentist and he told me that i have a big hole and a decayed tooth and he told me that he will try and fix it wiyth just a filling but if he exposes the nevres then he will have to take yjem out so so worried as i had a root canal about 10 years ago and i got a very very sharp pain fromthe root canal that it made me jump and i jumped highh as it hurt.. why do root canal hurt so much
User :   i do have abit of pain in my tooth
Doctor :   Because it nothing but filling the exposed nerve junctions in teeth
Doctor :   As it involves the nerves the smallest infection will trigger much pain
User :   what u mean sorri
Doctor :   Generally follwing tooth decay the nerve root is exposed which will initiate infection
Doctor :   follwing procedure and antibiotics it will subside in 5 days
User :   so will the root canal be painful if he has to take the nerves out
Doctor :   For time being you will also given painkillers, local aneasthetic jelly, antibiotics
Doctor :   Not during the procedure
Doctor :   As its done under local block
User :   even if the nerves are alive
Doctor :   Some people will have pain after procedure if the block is short acting'
User :   whats local block
Doctor :   Infiltration of local aneasthetic agent in the field of procedure
User :   i can have anything that has adrenaline in it
User :   i cant have anything with adrenaline in it
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   there are plain agents without adrenaline too
User :   as i suffer very bad anxitey
Doctor :   Only lidocaine
Doctor :   You shouldn't be anxious
Doctor :   that will trigger pain reflexes and make it worse
User :   will the adreline one would that make me really anxiuos
User :   as i have chroic anxitey
Doctor :   Its just an adjuvant to the lidocaine just helping prolong the action of the drug
Doctor :   If your anxious you will require large amount of dosage
User :   why dont they use the one they nomally use
Doctor :   They can on facial procedures we have restrictions for adrenaline mixed and chances for overdosage
User :   the one my dentist uses lasts like 3 hours
Doctor :   Hence when there are anxious patients they avoid adrenaline combinations
Doctor :   What drug does he use
User :   not sure
Doctor :   Is there anything else i can help you with/
User :   how much can ther dentist give me with the normal local anestiea b4 he starts. can he give me like 2 or so b4 he trys getting the nerves out
User :   so it wont hurt
Doctor :   Its calculated from your weight. and also procedure time
User :   when will i doctor be avabile
Doctor :   Pardon
User :   hes booked me is for 45 mins thats for a filling on the front teeth and another filling if he hits the nerve he takes the nerves out
Doctor :   Ok
User :   when will a dentist be around so i can talk to him
Doctor :   For filling you not require aneasthesia
User :   i do
Doctor :   As said we have no dentists in our Online panel
User :   why not on fillings
Doctor :   Only general practioners
Doctor :   Fillings are not mostly deep enough to hurt your nerves so they dont require
User :   can i talk like 4 mgs of valim b4 the appointment
Doctor :   In case you have pain they may use local anesthetic sprays
User :   take
Doctor :   No#
User :   why
Doctor :   You have to consult your dentist and then proceed
User :   whys that
Doctor :   I can't say what drug he is goi to use for the procedure
