User:Actually i m suffering from gallstones problem..
User:there are round about 3 to 4 gallstones in my gall bladder..
User:its size is about 5mm to 6mm..
User:My doctor has advised me for an operation..but i dont want to do it..
User:is there any other option of treatment??
Doctor:Gall stones that are formed in the gall bladder most often is pushed out into the intestines and excreted
Doctor:This is usually a painless process.
Doctor:However if there is significant pain it means the stone is not excreted and is getting obstructed.
Doctor:As obstruction can worsen the situation and gall stone problem can be recurring
Doctor:surgeon often suggest to get operated.
Doctor:If you are completely asymptomatic now or have little pain without fever, vomiting or jaundice
Doctor:you can take a second opinion from another surgeon before deciding upon surgery.
User:i m not suffering from any symptoms u mentioned..
Doctor:However in presence of severe pain, fever, vomiting or jaundice you will need to plan this surgery at the earliest
User:but sometimes i exprnce a litte pain in ri8 side of the upper side of abdomen..

User:i had done an mri scan..but it shows there is no obstruction..
User:but i am facing severe gastric problems..

Doctor:1. Gall stones are usually a recurring condition.
Doctor:2. It is not a serious problem unless if there is obstruction.
Doctor:Obstructing stone is a serious condition and cause more trouble.
Doctor:3. As the surgeons found stones in the gall bladder, some surgeon prefer to operate and remove the gall bladder in order to prevent future complications.
Doctor:4. Gastritis is a different entity which needs a different treatment.
Doctor:You will need diet and lifestyle changes and medications to control it.
Doctor:Medical drugs like omeprazole once a day for 2 weeks is advised in case of severe gastritis.

User:1. Is there any other treatment instead of removal of gall bladder for this disease?
Doctor:Yes, there is also a conservative treatment which includes pain killers, anti ulcer medications and antibiotics.
Doctor:However this only takes care of acute symptoms.
Doctor:It has no role in preventing this problem in the future.
Doctor:Complete cure or prevention I would say is by surgery.
Doctor:We cannot prevent further gall stone formation by means of medication.

User:but what are the drawbacks in my body after the removal of gall bladder?

Doctor:there is an option of endoscopic removal (ERCP)or lithotripsy available.

User:but at present my age is 28yrs..
