User :   i have a extreme dry scaly skin during only winter season...pls give me the permanent solution to this..

Doctor :   is the dry skin present all over the body? or is only in the exposed parts of the body?
User :   is there a permanent solution to this problem what i hv sir
User :   its on legs, abdomen and hands..

User :   since last 8 yrs
Doctor :   I would recommend an examination by a dermatologist, and get a skin patch test done from where the skin is affected
User :   its become worse when i go to northern india during winter....but very less if i'm in southern part of india

Doctor :   1) avoid taking bath with excessive hot water, let it be lukewarm, such that the natural oils in skin do not get washed out
Doctor :   2) take a lot of vegetable and fruit salads with a tossing of olive oil in them
Doctor :   3) apply parrafin lotion or moisturizer with aloe vera immediately after you pat yourself dry.
Doctor :   3) Drink plenty of water about 10-12 glasses per day
Doctor :   5) avoid direct exposure of the skin to sun when you go out, or use a suncreen

User :   sorry for the intrruption sir,,,in case of already scale formation, how to remove those
Doctor :   the scales are nothing but dead skin, they will go away with bath and gentle scrubbing, and with adequate moisturization.
Doctor :   if it is only dry skin problem it can be treated with the above measures that I have given
User :   but its very difficult remove...after that feeling buring if tried
Doctor :   but if after the skin test it turns out to be some infection or skin problem like Psoriasis, then the treatment will involve oral medications and light therapy sessions
Doctor :   do not try to remove them when not moist
Doctor :   it is better that you get them examined first
