User :   Hi, my last menstrual period was Jan 4. I have regular periods with a 25 day cycle and it lasts for 6 days. I did two urine pregnancy tets and both were negative. Last week I also got a transabdominal/vaginal scan which was negative. I have white odourless discharge, frequent urination but no other pregnancy symptoms. Can you help please?
Doctor :   Hi

User :   the hormone tests?
Doctor :   yes
User :   k any guesses wht it could be? is it some infection? or other reasons?
Doctor :   they will give a clear view about your menstrual cycle and ovarian function
Doctor :   this is not a infection
Doctor :   this is probably a hormonal or endocrine disorder
User :   Ok, i am a bit disappointed i am not preganant and glad if its not an infection!
User :   in a hormone related problem will there be no other symptoms?
Doctor :   this is not a infection
Doctor :   no , the main symptoms would be irregular periods , missed periods , etc
Doctor :   these are symptoms in endocrine and ovarian disorders
User :   but this is my first missed periods since i started my cycle
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   You can also do a blood pregnancy test, that checks for hCG levels
Doctor :   in the blood
User :   well if both u/s and urine test are negative, the chances may be low ight
User :   right?
Doctor :   yes,
User :   i hope its not menopause...!!! good prospect since we plan to start our family now...
Doctor :   but since you had a irregular peiod of 12 days in jan , the cycle calculation may be incorrect
Doctor :   the blood hormone tests will give a idea about that as well
User :   k but even by tht count i should have started my periods some time by mid Feb right?
Doctor :   yes thats right
Doctor :   you should have had a period by 18th atleast
User :   I am finding it strange since i have no negative symptoms!!
User :   a little worried as well...
Doctor :   there is no need to be worried
Doctor :   this is a common occurance at the age of 36
Doctor :   and when treated with hormone supplements, this can be taken care off
User :   oh what is it called in medical terms?
User :   will it affect an future plans to start a family
Doctor :   this is DUB, dysfunctional uterine bleeding
Doctor :   and it does not affect conception and childbearing, if the cause is treated effectively
User :   ok thanks docto thats reassuring...
Doctor :   you are welcome
User :   but you are quite sure its not an infection right
Doctor :   yes this is not a infectioon 200%
User :   thank you!
Doctor :   Do u have any other doubts ?
Doctor :   You are most welcome
User :   k i guess i need to get the tests and then figure out the next steps based on the results i suppose..
