User :   I'm experiencing chronic kidney infections. After my 2nd infection, in less than 6 months, I was advised to start with my obgyn, due to the fact, that I have an I.U.D. (I suppose there's a correlation). She put my on the antibiotic "Microbid;" 1 cap. after sex, and instructed: no thong-underwear, wipe front to back, (always have), and no annal to vaginal intercourse, (would never happen anyway), and limited sugar consumption, in hopes to rule these out as the culprit. This isn't working.
The kidney pain has never entirely ceased, nor the tiredness nor the dizziness. It always feels as though, I'm just one-glass-of-water-away, from an actual infection.
Today I found an article about the relation between strep. and kidney infections. I tested positive for strep. b, with my second son, but this was over 3yrs. ago. I do have a tooth that needs a root canal -- could this be the cause for my kidney infections?
I have an appointment in 3wks. to see a urologist. I'd like only to submit, relevent subject matter.
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   let me read what you have typed.
Doctor :   the strepB infections, if systemic, can remain dormant and reappear when immune system goes down

User :   I'm 29, 5ft. 7, and until all these infections wieghed 140lbs. Now 164 -- my kidneys hurt when I go to the gym
Doctor :   was renal x-ray or ultrasound scan done?
Doctor :   was there history of stones in kidney at anytime?
User :   No, only urine
Doctor :   how much water do you consume per day approximately?
User :   No stones, and more then 10 glasses a day, (now).
Doctor :   since you are having pain in kidney area with your daily work and exercises, a renal scan is recommended
Doctor :   is there burning or discomfort when passing urine?
User :   Okay, but should I bring up my tooth? and no burning with urination
Doctor :   yes, you should get the tooth issue resolved
Doctor :   the medications given for it will also help in kidney infection, if they are related
User :   Thank you, regards.
